Noice man, I love my rack. I drilled holes vertically in the crossmembers to have storage for my spotter arms and roller pad and cannot recommend it more.

I got the pad from Amazon, it’s the only one I could find in stock and it’s only 130$. They do the job, but I also don’t deadlift, I just clean and jerk but control the weight when I lower it. They are also nice for dropping kettlebells or dumbbells on of you live in an apartment. The fabric is okay and may rip after a while if you are using steel plates but I do and they are holding up so far.

Sorry to hear they are so difficult to get. I’ve had my eyes on these (Yes4all crash pads from amazon). I don’t have experience with them yet but planning to order soon. I have a couple other things from yes4all and they’ve been very good, so am assuming this is too. Plus it’s available.

But if you’re only going to use them to increase the height for your deadlifts so you’re not doing deficits, I’d just look for something to equalize the height to a normal level. Lots of things could probably work for cheap.

Foam crash pads might be enough for you. They are very hard foam and come in 6-10” thickness.

I’d still lean to bumpers. Assuming apartment living means you’re not fully wedded to living in the city/town you’re in currently? Bumpers tend to hold up as far as looks the best and will have the best market if you ever need to sell or want to switch to irons in a more permanent location. After that, things like Rep equalizers could be a good choice of a coated plate that’ll reduce the clanking. You’ll also have to think about your side neighbors.

For deads and heavy DBs they’ll be perfect. For dropping bars there is still a decent amount of noise when newer as the vinyl (or whatever the cover is) and the firmness of the foam will still make a ‘smack’ sound rather than a thump, but it helps reduce the vibration so noise does not travel.

I live in a loft, so not entirely standard apartment, but I deadlift with 1″ tiles, Oly weights I know I can make and bring back down, bench work etc. I have an airbike as well.
