My skin is very sensitive and a lot of lotions cause me to break out, so I look for things with very gentle ingredients and short ingredient lists (to minimize the chance that I have an adverse reaction).

I wash with this cleanser, which is really gentle and doesn’t dry my skin at all: http://www.amazon.com/Yes-Cucumbers-Gentle-Cleanser-Fluid/dp/B007AS61TE/ It also doesn’t lather, so if you’ve never used a nonlathering cleanser before it may take a little getting used to. It’s very similar in texture to Fresh’s Soy Face Cleanser. I usually pick it up at Target and if they don’t have that one I get the Say Yes to Cucumbers Gel Cleanser, but the milk one is gentler and more hydrating.

I use this hyaluronic acid serum on damp skin: http://www.amazon.com/Best-Selling-Hyaluronic-Pure-Highest-Paraben-free-Vegan–Best/dp/B0090UJFYI/ It is JUST water and hyaluronic acid, so it helps moisturize without adding any other ingredients. The moisturizing it does is INSANE. My eczema patches will totally disappear once I apply the hyaluronic acid to them, when otherwise they only do that with prescription strength steroids. Not sure if you’re a girl or guy but it goes well under makeup too. When I’m at home I can use just this to moisturize but the air isn’t too dry here – when I go to somewhere where the air is dry, I cover it with DML lotion: http://www.amazon.com/DML-Moisturizing-Lotion-16-oz/dp/B000052YN7/ which is a lightweight lotion that works well for me.

If you would like to do the oil cleansing method instead, I would start out with mineral oil rather than jojoba, as someone else suggested. Mineral oil isn’t comedogenic unless you’re allergic to petroleum (if you can safely use vaseline, you’re not), whereas jojoba can be for some people.
