You could try a desk cushion, and put a diy cover over it (I have seen no sew pillow cover ideas on Pinterest). For instance, I have this seat cushion for my desk chair, and it is very comfortable.

They don’t sell the one I got. This one is good. It’s wider than mine (which I wish mine was). I’d also recline the seat as well to get weight off your backside.

Hey man as a fellow aeron owner I do recommend getting the lumbar support and potentially a cushion. I spend about 6 hours a day in my chair and after about a year the plastic rim around the seat started to give me Charlie horses in my legs, after some research I saw that I t wasn’t that uncommon. I got this and it made the chair so much more enjoyable if you’re spending a lot of time in it. Also the bottom bit tends to collect quite a bit of dust so keep your eyes on it! I hope you enjoy the chair as much as I have!

Yes, there’s nothing abnormal about using one, especially if you’re a little shorter than the statistical average and flying a plane without a height adjustable seat. I reccomend figuring out whether you’ll need one (and if so how thick) with something cheap or borrowed, and then getting something a little nicer to keep with your flight bag. I got one of these – comfortable, thick and will stay in place on the seat https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N2VSUAE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_pUhnFb5TD9FRW

I bought an ErgoChair 2 about 9 months ago, and it’s held up beautifully. If you’re under 6’3 and 225lb’s the chair should be excellent for you. I’d recommend spending a little extra for an Xtreme Comforts seat cushion if you plan on sitting for extended periods of time. The standard cushion is probably my only real complaint. It’s good, but I expected more from a chair designed for 8+hour workdays in it. I also got a Mind Reader foot rest and now the chair is absolutely perfect for 8-12hr sittings. You really aren’t going to find a better chair at this price range. In blind tests the ErgoChair more often than not beats out everything in the $100-$1000 range.

I have the ComfiLife one as well as this one:
Tried the Purple one, just do damn heavy to lug around and I like the one above better for less than half the price.

Love my Autonomous ErgoChair 2, completely alleviated all my back problems from daily use on a crappy gaming chair that cost the same price. The stock seat cushion isn’t the best, but I bought a proper one for extended sitting sessions. The amount of customization the chair offers is unparalleled at that price range. If you are over 6’3 and 225lb’s I would consider a different chair though.
If you do consider the ErgoChair, this is the seat cushion I’d recommend. It’s like sitting on a cloud now.https://www.amazon.com/Large-Cushion-Handle-Bottom-RELIEF/dp/B01N2VSUAE
I’d also recommend getting a nice footrest as well. It’s amazing how much better you will feel with a proper chair and posture. Here’s what the ErgoChair can do.
