I have looked into this extensively and I found the Lap Desk. As long as you have a laser mouse the surface should not make a difference at all. It would lay on your legs while you’re sitting down.
I just got my mechanical wireless gaming keyboard in and already own a G700 mouse, so I’ll be picking one of those up very soon so I can game in the living room.
