edit: I got mine in like 2006 or 7 – and i feel like its not being supported anymore and I’ve read others having problems with the drivers but not stiff answers yet

If you want to do any sort of serious drawing you’re probably better off getting something like a Wacom Tablet – http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Intuos3-8-Inch-Pen-Tablet/dp/B00030097G

You’ll get better results, and it works with any system touchscreen or not, so you can’t use it any other systems you have now or in future.

Touchscreen monitors aren’t really made for that, and it’s not ergonomically the best solution trying to draw on one either.

I think i can help.

It’s not new and not wireless but I have Wacom Intuos 3 that is almost brand new (no box though). I’d rather give it to somebody who can use it instead of having it collect dust in my cubicle.

If you are interested PM me with your address. I’m in Canada, Ontario and if the shipping is about $20 I’ll be happy to send it to you.

I use a Huion H610 Pro. It is not Wacom, but it’s definitely damn good. I particularly love that it’s 2048 DPI, over Wacom’s 1024 DPI for their cheaper tablets. My two prior tablets have been an Intuos3 (used for over 4 years), and a Bamboo Splash (used for roughly 3 years). All three tablets are good, each has their strengths, however, for the size, sensitivity, and price, the Huion beats the Wacom tablets out for me.

Intuos3 – http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Intuos3-8-Inch-Pen-Tablet/dp/B00030097G
Bamboo Create – http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Bamboo-Splash-Tablet-CTL471/dp/B0089VGPII
Huion H610 Pro – http://www.amazon.com/Huion-H610PRO-Painting-Drawing-Graphics/dp/B00GIGGS6A

The only issues I have run into with the Huion are pretty small; the drivers can be a bit of a pain (and are Engrish as hell), and you have to start up Photoshop/SAI/whatever art program you use BEFORE you turn on your pen, otherwise the mapping will be off. To fix that, you just have to restart your program, so it’s not a huge deal. The pen itself uses two AA batteries, but so far seems to have a pretty good life.

Sorry, yes. You can’t run Photoshop on a tablet, (i.e. an iPad), but if you get a Wacom tablet, then she can draw & paint directly into Photoshop on top of her photo. Hope that makes sense!
