What is the opinion of Reddit about the
Vortexgear Grey CNC Case – PBT DSA Keycaps – Cherry Mx-Clear [CNC Aluminium Casing]?

So I purchased mine off of Amazon, here’s a link. Mind that this has the Cherry MX Clear keycaps, I’m unsure if other variants are in stock, as this one seems to be.

Hi! Firstly, thanks for the comment! Didn’t know people were still lookin at this post anymore these days 🙂 Anyway, welcome and I’m glad you like it!
I don’t want to be “that guy” either, but I’m not quite sure what ELI5 is to be honest! BUT, I can tell you exactly what I’ve got here.

The keyboard itself is called the Vortex Race 3. It’s a really well built and low profile 75% board. Here is an Amazon link to it (with cherry mx clear switches) if you’re interested in buying a new one!

You can see from the pictures of it that it does come with those white-ish and grey keycaps right out the box, which is awesome. And it also comes with a few other colored caps, not a lot, but just enough to add your own flavor to it. A couple red ones, some blue, I think a couple of green ones, and some yellow ones as well.

But what I did in this picture is mix my own separate set of orange keycaps with the already stock white and grey caps that come on the board. I thought it gave it sort of a Mars/Pathfinder type of feel. Plus, it matched my little astronaut figurine 🙂

You’ll see if you click that link that you’ll have the option to choose what set of keycaps you want, maybe you only want modifiers or an ortholinear set, etc. And you’ll also have the option to choose a specific color.
The exact color I chose is “OAX Orange”

As for the coiled cable running out of my keyboard, that was custom made by the user u/90N1NE

And other than that I just have a random still shot from the movie The Martian as my desktop that I found on Google haha.
