Paler skin does get more sunburnt specifically because it doesn’t block as much sunlight, which is needed for vitamin D synthesis. Really inconvenient way to get a vitamin you know… but due to being inside all the time, 75% of Americans (Probably applies to Canadians too) currently have a vitamin D deficiency. This number is even higher in black people who live in higher latitudes.
