That’s… Really really odd. Here is what I’m using for humidity. On my bottom rack near the humidifier I have a fan pointed slightly up to provide airflow and humidity to everything that’s under T5’s.

To me it sounds like you don’t have enough airflow, my setup is a maximum of 10-12 degrees higher than ambient and that’s if I’m really trying. I’ve been having to put a space heater in front of my lowlanders to get anything into the 80’s and my ambient room temps are 70 during the day and 55 at night.

I’m currently using this in conjunction with some hosing and fittings I got from Lowe’s. If you are willing to look around, I found the exact same model at GoodWill for $5 (I bought it for spare parts). Only downside is that the way I use it, the tank has to be filled once a day, and it has to be cleaned out every week or so.

Alternatively, you could buy an ultrasonic transducer, large rubbermaid container, 12v fan, and appropriate tubing and make a fogger using that. I have no experience building something like this, but it is on my to do list when I have a bit more space to set up such a contraption.

In the US I use a Vicks WARM MIST humidifier because it serves a multitude of purposes for me, but there is a cool/ultrasonic version here. I bought mine at Target, nothing special. I have literally the same humidifier here in Sweden (just re-branded as Honeywell) and it’s great.

I will say this much: having a warm mist humidifier is a pain in the ass because you have to clean the mineral buildup off the heating element every so often and it’s kinda gross.
