Format the drive on a computer and try again. The Shield is really picky about drives. When you plug it back in, if the Shield recognizes it as internal storage, it will prompt you to move data.

Im using two of these on my Shields and it took multiple formatting to get it to work.

Sentry Mode | USB Question:

I’m noticing that I’m having to format the drive every time I get into the car and I wasn’t really sure if this is because I have yet to log any sentry mode activity or dash-cam activity. I just went to the grocery store where I came back to the vehicle with “3 Sentry Mode” activities…or something like that. I tapped on the notification and it didn’t go anywhere. Frankly, I think I forgot to format the drive before this trip so maybe the drive wasn’t formatted for this Sentry Mode activity.

My Question:

Is there any reason that USB Device wouldn’t work for Sentry Mode/Dash-cam?

Is this normal? Do I need to keep formatting the device until a Sentry Mode/Dash-cam recording is written to the drive?
