Amazon has a DEAL OF THE DAY sale on V-Moda Crossfade M-100 headphones right now. $149 down from $249. Not sure if these are DJ specific – I’ve just seen people here go gaga over the brand.

I know it’s just above your range but the V-Moda’s I have right now are 179 on Amazon and would me my recommendation. If you don’t have a standalone mic, they do sell a cable with a gaming mic attached to it.

I think it all comes down to the padding in the ear cups. I’ve been using V-MODA Crossfade m100s for a year and a half now. Every now and then they drop to $150 and the microphone cable (boom mic) is around $30. I just plug them right into the bottom of the controller.

The padding on them is comfortable that they’ll fit snug but won’t force the glasses into the side of your head.

Not sure if this is tech support related or deserves its own thread, but posting here first just in case.

I bought a pair of https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A39PPCG/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 last year and recently the left headphone doesn’t play audio unless I have the chord half plugged in, if its fully plugged in I only get audio in the right ear.

I went on amazon.com to check warrenty and it says its expired, despite it being less than a year old. Do they not have a one year? I tried checking through amazon but got no information, and the seller is Amazon Export LLC.

Also I live in Canada, bought from .com because black friday deal was so good. Am I screwed or is there an option to fix this? I checked google but most sites, including VMODA, say to send it to buyer but I can’t get an option to do that on Amazon.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

Oh, I’m so sorry, but I bought it from a third party as Used, Like New. He doesn’t have another listing, but there are always new listings being posted under the third party sales. The cheapest like new listing right now is $190 with Prime shipping. Link

If you like your bass (nothing wrong with it, mind you), the V-Moda M100 with the XL pads may be up your alley.

https://www.amazon.ca/V-MODA-Crossfade-Over-Ear-Noise-Isolating-Headphone/dp/B00A39PPCG/

I’ve read numerous posts about how the XL pads make all the difference, and how those should have been included as stock pads to begin with.

The M-100 is currently £50 more expensive than the X2 on Amazon.co.uk.

Sound-wise the X2 > M-100. The X2 offers a wider soundstage plus better clarity/detail and imaging accuracy for gaming. You can clearly hear footsteps and gunshots etc. while the M-100 is veiled/muddy in comparison. Plus the X2’s bass is less bloated and more impactful.

The X2 offers a lot more bang for the buck. The M-100 is overrated in my opinion.

If that is your price range then consider getting the Vmoda M100’s http://www.amazon.com/V-MODA-Crossfade-Over-Ear-Noise-Isolating-Headphone/dp/B00A39PPCG/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1454636176&sr=1-1&keywords=vmoda+m100

These beasts are absolutely insane how good they are. If you are looking for smooth clear and strong bass then these ones are the one to get. They are also amazing to take on the go because they can be played pretty loud without getting noise leaking. I own the Audio Technica M50x and the Vmoda m100 blows them out of the water imo. I haven’t tried the 598’s however I know that my M100’s sound a lot better than the sennheiser momentums.

If you’re an audiophile or just love good audio for games check out the V-MODA accomodation. You can choose between all of their products, but I got the Crossfade M-100s:

http://www.amazon.com/V-MODA-Crossfade-Over-Ear-Noise-Isolating-Headphone/dp/B00A39PPCG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455514353&sr=8-1&keywords=Crossfade+M-100

These headphones have received so many awards, and after having these for a few months now, I can say they live up to their reputation. The deal we get on them is amazing, and there’s even a code for the accessories if you need them (like the boompro microphone for gaming). They kick the shit out of Beats (but most do anyway, honestly), and Sennheiser only has one set that can compare to these.

EDIT: The accomodation also includes personalization options, but it only covers the fiber shields and not the aluminum shields, for obvious reasons.

The vmoda mic can work with the m50x headphones, but it requires a little bit of modification to get it to work. It will not work with the k550’s, but they do have a inline mic so that might work, but I’m not sure. The momentum 2.0 does have a detachable cable, but it looks like you will need a 2.5mm male to 3.5mm female adapter. A suggestion that I have that would work no with the mic without problems are the Vmoda m100’s. I am not too knowledgable on this but I suggest heading over to /r/headphones as they will be much more helpful.

V-moda M100’s are on sale on amazon right now for 200$. These aren’t neutral, but if you like the sound of the SE215’s then these should be okay. They have a bit strong bass, but i find the treble presence better, not the kind that’s piercing or fatiguing like some grado’s can get.

You could try if Sennheiser Momentum 1.0 fit your needs. They come with detachable cable that has an inline remote. There is a newer version the 2.0 which can fold and has thicker earpads for greater comfort but are around 250$ on amazon according to the black friday sale thread. These are a bit warmer than neutral but not overly so.

I’d also look into these bad boys:

http://www.amazon.com/V-MODA-Crossfade-Over-Ear-Noise-Isolating-Headphone/dp/B00A39PPCG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1447338554&sr=8-1&keywords=v-moda+crossfade+m-100

They seem to be a bit of an upgrade compared to the M50X’s and can be had for less than $200 on amazon.

Apologies to anyone trying to help, i have little to no idea on what I’m fully looking for but i’ll try my best and take all the advice i can get, thanks. Reason for buying headphones at bottom of post.

Budget: £250 possibly flexible.

Source: Audio recording equipment and programs to edit said audio (for university work)

Isolation: a lot I think
Will you be using these in public?: I’ll try not to but probably will end doing so

Preferred type of headphone: comfortable over ear

Preferred tonal balance: need a good all rounder for accurate recordings but possibly customisation to listen for accute changes

Past headphones: Im a scumbag and had beats studio, fake ones but quite good nonetheless. To my untrained ear they were fine for what i needed at the time, just listening to music. So ive got no experience with a professional pair of headphones

Preferred music taste: lofi, rap, rock.

What would you like to improve: I need a pair of professional headphones rather than plain stock earbuds.

Location: UK

Nearly a Uni student who needs some help on deciding which professional (but cheapish) over ear headphones to buy.
So basically I need some decent headphones with good quality sound to do my college project and start university with. I’m the audio designer in a 2 guy team in which we’re gonna start making a 2D Parallax animation and Introductory game level for. I plan on doing audio engineering for games in the future and as of now I am on a games design course in college and have applied for a games design and production course at uni.

So far I’ve come across Beyerdynamic headphones which are apparently top quality german engineering and are super good, but pretty big pricetag-ish. This is one of my main choices

https://north-america.beyerdynamic.com/catalog/product/view/id/352/s/dt-990-pro/category/1464/

This is another pair Ive found that have really good reviews from where Ive digged

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00A39PPCG/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1

Thanks for the help

Here we go: Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Plus

A fairly stylish and highly comfortable full size headphone with good isolation and relatively low power requirements. The COP has an adjustable bass port that lets you decide how much bass the headphones produce. The cable has remote functionality for smartphones and is detachable.

If you want a more portability and a great amount of quality bass, check out the V-Moda M100. Many user on this forums say that they additionally upgraded the pads of the M-100, since the stock pads are fairly shallow. V-Moda offers the very good XL pads with memory foam and increased depth and diameter.

Amazon seems to have them on a slight sale. But to get the custom shields with your order at the same time I would do their main site. They are free to get and if you want more you order more.
