Although way outside your budget when new, V-Moda is quite V shaped sound signature, portable, closed, on ear, stellar build quality, and look nice. Tyl at innerfidelity really likes them. As it happens, my pair of Crossfade M80
gets very little use these days. I could land them on your doorstep for just a slight bump to your budget. PM if your interested…~~I risk crusafixtion offering this here and not on r/avexchange.~~

Edit: I mistook this sub for plain old r/headphones, which would freak out if someone asked for advice or tried sell something. Carry on.

Budget – Less than $100

Source – iPhone 6, laptop

Requirements for Isolation – Some, these will be used at school and home

Preferred Type of Headphone – Full-sized or IEMs

Preferred tonal balance – Basshead

Past headphones – Haven’t used these but a full-sized alternative to the V-MODA M-80s would be nice, something that looks good like those do

Preferred Music – Rap and metal

What would you like to improve on from your set-up – Basic IEMs right now so anything would be an improvement

Looks like a V-Moda with custom plates on the side. 😀 That’s awesome!

These? Looks like they’re $90 right now. I keep reading that they’re uncomfortable. Is that true?

I would say go for these

If you wait they go on sale sometime for 80 or so dollars. But I recommend them because they sound fantastic (coming from someone who has more headphones than i care to admit) and they require very little power to crank the volume up, oh and they have a detachable cable which is a big plus.

consider the vmoda m80 as well. i know you mentioned wanting bluetooth connectivity, but as the momentum has none of that, i want to throw this into the mix. can be found for 90~ on amazon. has a removable cable and if im not mistaken a hard case as well.

The HyperX Cloud is a classic recommendation if you want a cheap (~$60) headset with some decent sound behind it.

If you want to make the most of your money I’d recommend the V-Moda M-80 and hook a V-Moda BoomPro to it. Excellent sound and a good mic to go with it, plus the M-80 are very portable and will work well hooked to a phone on the move (with the original cable). You may have to shop around a bit to find this combo for $140, usually it’s $10-20 more.

If the budget is fixed and you can’t find them cheaper, swap the M-80 for Logitech UE6000 or some Philips SHP9500 (they work with the BoomPro).

V-Moda / Audio Technica

Just look for photos that look like it’s got a 3.5mm headphone jack.

I’ve got These, got them for the Bluetooth + They have obnoxious bass if you want, but still make for really good no bass vocal headphones.

Check out the V-Moda M80s. $90 on Amazon right now although comfort is a hit or miss.
