Personally, I would go with this headset.. Costs $125 for headset, plus mic totals you at $150. Although not necessary, I would definitely upgrade to the XL ear cushions. Worth the extra $20. So with a total of $175, it’ll be a investment you won’t regret. Trust me.

I know it’s not a gaming headset, but my god it might as well be one. I used a pair of these for about two weeks (before upgrading to the m-100’s for an extra $100) and while playing Planetside 2, it sounds absolutely amazing. The level of immersion while using these was truly something else compared to the $75 turtle beach set I had before. The 3D soundstage and crystal clear sounds set these things apart from my old turtle beach headset. You can easily pick out enemies footsteps, cloaking sounds and gunfire very easily. Also they sound great on other games too.

Best part is, you can use this headset for more than gaming. Listening to music on them is awesome, so much better that a pair of beats or skull candys. Just read the Amazon reviews for that bit of info.

And if you’re still hesitant to buy a pair, ask somebody that owns a pair of them I only owned them for two weeks, so there’s that. If you want more info, just send me a message. I can’t recommend them enough. Buy them!

Edit:spelling

Would something like this https://www.amazon.com/V-MODA-Crossfade-Over-Ear-Noise-Isolating-Headphone/dp/B00HYH7HXA/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1510273862&sr=1-3&keywords=crossfade+lp2&dpID=41X%252BKCjg0cL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Be good paired with that microphone you listed?

Do you think these are the best bang for my buck at this price range? Appreciate the suggestion a lot.

I use them at work every day and they block out all the noise I need to focus, while still letting me hear just enough to know if somebody is right behind me saying my name. Also the ear pads are comfortable and it has a good carrying case to protect it.

V-Moda LP2

They are still “fun” headphones while being much more comfortable and sound a bit better in my opinion. I like the Sennheiser 598SE more, but they are not good for public use.

they sound great but the cans are small and will fatigue your ears if you dont have small ears. I just got these vmoda they super comfy and sound great for the price.

I have no idea about tonal balance :/

Also friend recommended the Crossfade lp2 for the isolation. How do you think it compares to the m40x/50x?

/u/auralucario2 suggested the v-moda Crossfade LP2’s which seem like they are the next model down from the M100’s. Do you know if there is a significant jump from the LP2’s to the M100’s?

This is my post from yesterday:

Budget – $100 CAD, will pay more if it will make a big difference

Source – phone and PC

Requirements for Isolations – Closed preferably

Preferred Type of Headphone – IEM or Over-ear

Preferred tonal balance – Looking for a good all-around sound.

Past headphones – mostly just whatever headphones i can get my hands on at the time.

Preferred Music – Hip-hop/Rap, Rock

Improvements – I would like more bass as well as more clarity in the sound.
Location: Canada

I think I’ve finally decided on a pair of headphones:

I was just wondering as to people’s thoughts on this pair to what I am looking for.

I own both the Audiotechnica ATH m50s as well as the V-Moda Crossfade LP2 headphones and I’ve found that the Crossfades actually have a more suitable bass for listening to genres like EDM, Rap/RnB, and Trap. The ATH m50s are a GREAT pair of headphones for balanced listening, but I much prefer the bassy punch of the Crossfades for bass heavy music. Amazon is actually having a sale right now for them! Right here 140bucks!

Edit: I’m actually hella mad cause I bought these like a week ago when they were 180… curse my greed hahaha

I believe these might be the best bet, it might be just over what you are looking for but they are good at noise isolation and what not. They should be pretty good.

V-MODA Crossfade LP2 Vocal Limited Edition Over-Ear Noise-Isolating Metal Headphone – Matte Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HYH7HXA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_D7RWATV23NRPKCW13AQP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

They are very bassy and almost muddy. If your looking for something flatter I would say

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7GM SonicPro Over-Ear High-Resolution Audio Headphones, Gun Metal Gray (Renewed) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G67DPBB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_QG1FZ8B9R63A3XQV23WW

But again that’s a bit over your budget. If you need to be under budget you may need to bite the bullet and go for SHP9500s but again that are open back meaning it will let a lot more sound in..

Budget: under $200
Source: PS4, iPhone 8, PC
Public: sporadically
Type: over ear, closed back
Past headphones: Hyper X Cloud
Preferred Music: Rock, Electronic

Currently trying to decide between these two unless anyone has any experience/suggestions:

  1. V-Moda LP2 LE

  2. Audio-Technica ATH-M40x

With 1 I would probably get the v-mods boompro mic for the mute button.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

V-MODA Crossfade LP2 VS. Sennheiser PXC 480

BUDGET: $200 CAD

Noise Isolation: Preferred (used in noisy school environment and travel)

Wireless: Doesn’t matter

Comfort: Most Important

Music Pref: Deep House/ EDM/ Rap/ Ambient

I know it may not be an apples to apples comparison but they are going for the same price right now on Amazon and I want to get good headphones. Let me know your thoughts

V-MODA LP2’s are my favorites for EDM because they’ve got really profound bass without muddying the entire sound spectrum within a track. They run for $150 on amazon or at a local guitar center… I’d also recommend the $20 XL Ear-Pads for them, they add so much comfort!! You can also purchase customizable ear-shields which add a more personal flavor to your headphones if that floats your boat 🙂

Hello!

Need a price check on:

I want to buy a good pair of headphones. I am on a budget of about 150-200 CAD.

I was thinking to get a good pair of headphones, strap in a modmic (or v-moda boom mic) for VoIP.

I listen to EDM, my current ones (and I LOVE them for the bass) are MDRXB50APB

So I was looking into the V-MODA Crossfade LP2 with the XL cups and microphone extension for when I VoIP from computer.

Thoughts?

Budget – 150-200 CAD

Source – Phone, PC

Requirements for Isolation – Not applicable, have in-ear if need isolation.

Preferred Type of Headphone – Over-Ear, wired.

Preferred tonal balance – Bass

Preferred Music – EDM

What would you like to improve on from your set-up : setup that will let me have a mic to VoIP on PC. Current earphones are amazing but need mic for pc and don’t want a desk mic since I am using laptop.

The one I linked is ~£160. Here’s another seller even cheaper.

Actually I think that is the ‘newer model’ of the one I linked. Amazon has that one too for a little less money:

Sounds like a perfect oppertunity to go the headphone+mic route as opposed to the gaming headset route. But if you want, a good compromise would be a Vmoda Crossfade LP2 with the Vmoda boom mic pro. Total cost is under $200.

Link to headphones: Vmoda Crossfade LP2

Mic: Vmoda Boom Mic

you’ll get great sound, and you won’t have to replace the entire thing in case one component fails.

> this just means I need to turn up the resolution

yep. just set the resolution the the graphics options of whatever game

Hz = the highest fps your display can effectively display. you can run content at a higher or lower frame rate than the monitors Hz but without something like Gsync or Freesync you can see stutters or tears. you can lock your frame rate with vsync but that creates lag(unless you use Gsync too).

if your budget allows for the Gsync I would highly recommend it. IMHO its almost required to make the most out of your hardware
Of these id say Acer(Gsync)>>>>BenQ>Asus

your monitor is an older TN panel. Looks like a decent display, i would for sure hold on to that for a second monitor or something. Looks like you could easily overclock that monitor to 75Hz which is a noticeable difference.

The M50x are great. i personally like V-Moda I have These and These and the LPs are killer

Most games are not cpu bound, especially offline. games like cities skylines will use a lot of cpu because there are a lot of things going on. also online games can use a lot of cpu if there are lots of players online

Its only important if you plan on doing things like overclocking, SLI or Crossfire, etc. I spent a lot of money on my motherboard because it had features i wanted that others didn’t. at the time it was the only board that had all the overclocking features and a M.2 slot that was tied to PCIE lanes instead of sata.

Build looks almost perfect. ram sales change every day so unless you are in love with the heat spreaders i would just grab the cheapest 16GB kit of DDR4 2133 or 2400 CAS 15. 2133 or 2400 wont make any difference so just grab whatever is cheapest

Hey guys, this is my first time posting here! I’ve been a long time user of my Logitech G930, cringe all you want but I love them =P. But after countless years they are now ready to be replaced.

I was looking into the V-Moda Crossfade LP2 and the Audio Technica M50X

http://www.amazon.com/V-MODA-Crossfade-Over-Ear-Noise-Isolating-Headphone/dp/B00HYH7HXA/ref=pd_bxgy_23_img_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=05JV1S3VNH3AMGEQA1V1

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50x-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B00HVLUR86/ref=sr_1_3?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1460231325&sr=1-3&keywords=audio-Technica+ATH-M50x

I was going to get the V-Modo boom pro microphone which is 30 dollars with the V-Moda headphones. The same mic does work with the Audio Technica but it requires the removal of the Interlock mechanism and some other steps. Otherwise the Antlion mod mic would be the only choice but I don’t want a bunch of wires in the way which is why I like the boom pro microphone since it doesn’t add extra wires.

Anyways, which headset do you guys prefer? I’ll be doing gaming, music listening, movies, the standard stuff on a PC.

Also I’ll be using my onboard sound card. Would a PCIE sound card be advised with headphones like these?

Thanks in advance!

I’m thinking V-Moda Crossfade LP2 Vocal combined with the attachable Boom Pro Mic. This version of the Crossfade series is going to be the best for balanced sound, as the original crossfade series was more bass heavy. It’s great for gaming, and has an easily attachable mic as well that I own and love.

I don’t even understand the point of getting headsets meant for gaming. They are so huge. I use these combined with this mic and it works perfectly. I will never go back to headsets meant for gaming. The quality on these is amazing, and it is very very good for every thing else you might need headphones for.

I have these and love them. I use them daily at the gym and gaming and they have lasted longer than most of my pairs of headphones. Love the metal design and killer bass.

Maybe the deal is over? But, for $10 more. I’d get the newer, slightly less bass heavy LP-2’s
