I had one like this. I used to use it to heat my bedroom on cold nights. I noticed I had a headache in the morning sometimes. I NEVER get headaches. the heater was producing low low levels of carbon monoxide. instead of spending over $100 for dubious plumper. ( i guarantee a legit insured plumber will walk away from this job) get a SUPER SAFE electric space heater. we have a couple of these and love the safety features. the rooms it goes in stay very warm. be safe.
The heater is best for us when we set the ceiling fan in reverse and keep it on low. The warm air moves down nicely

If you end up doing beaters, I recommend this one. Very low risk fire-wise, and very efficiently.
