I’ve used an IOGear and TRENDnet in the past with no major issues. The only problem with the IOGear is it was primarily PS/2 and the USB adapters didn’t always work. But he’s not a fan of these brands, apparently based on prior experience with them flaking out after a while. I was leaning 8-port (yes, VGA is fine) and I originally suggested the one below.

this is the kvm. It’s ok. Not amazing. The Mac simply will not play nice with it.

Probably look into rack mounted (professional style) KVMs like this one – You have to buy cables separate…They are intended for servers. But it doesn’t have audio. So prob pick up some sort of audio switch as well. Something like this maybe. although its only 4 not 6. Or look into a audio receiver with 6 inputs.
