I was going to order this one later this week, might be a good starting point. Did not look into it’s efficacy for Macs.

What you’re looking for is called a KVM Switch. They have USB ports for a mouse and keyboard and one or more video outs. Then you have a video in and usb for each computer. Most are for 2 computers, but I’ve seen ones that go up to like 8 computers for data-centers. You’ll want to make sure that whatever one you get supports 120hz at whatever resolution you want because it will have to pass it through. The only one’s I’ve ever seen were VGA, but I suspect that more modern ones exist.

Edit: A quick google search returned this product, but it only supports 2560×1600 at 60hz, if you want to utilize the 120hz on your monitor you’ll need something beefier but this one is already $260

There aren’t a ton of dual-monitor KVM switches available, and they’re considerably more expensive. I was looking into this the other day and this was the best-looking one I found.

Ports shouldn’t matter too much, adapters are cheap, and you should be able to go HDMI<>DVI<>DisplayPort without trouble. You’d also have to make sure your docking station will actually support two monitors – some have two ports just for the convenience of using whatever cable is handy, and won’t actually let you use both at the same time.

Anybody have any experience with startech twin monitor KVMs in gaming situations? I want to use my mac and my PC on the same monitors but I’m worried about input lag, something like this

If you’re wanting more of a clean/minimalist workspace, I’d definitely go for the KVM. I picked one up a few months back and it’s been great not having to move cables around at the beginning/end of each day. You may need to pick up a docking station if your laptop doesn’t have enough ports.

For the KVM, this is what I picked up. I also grabbed 2 of these to pass all of my audio and USB connections

A dual monitor KVM switch will do exactly what you need. You can find cheaper options if you shop around.

I found a version which also supports 4k.
https://www.startech.com/nl/en/Server-Management/KVM-Switches/2-port-dual-dp-kvm-switch~SV231DPDDUA2

(2 usbc to displayport cables + 1 usbc to usb-b) per macbook should work. 🙏

Had a quick google and found this: r/https://www.amazon.co.uk/STARTECH-COM-Port-DisplayPort-Switch-Audio/dp/B003N3BU6E It’s a bit pricey but you may be able to find a cheaper alternative. Also, you could go the route of an HDMI switch. Using either should mean you don’t have to change the input on the monitor, but rather flick the switch to change the input. I beleive Linus Tech Tips did a video about having 4 different OS’ on the same screen:r/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9u1vX-pvLs

Once it died, I replaced it with a G502 and the fit doesn’t seem as nice. In particular my pinky and ring finger are always fighting with each other while using it.
