My brother uses this one which is a folding/budget version of the same thing. He quite likes it when he remembers to use it :B

I use an exercise bike any time I play a video game. I like to play video games a lot, so I tend to use the bike a lot throughout the day. I played a lot of Smite yesterday 🙂

Also, nice job with losing 45 pounds! Keep it up!

Thank you!

So, I like to play video games. This leads to me sitting on my ass a lot of the time, when I could be standing/moving around/etc. So, I bought a cheap exercise bike and started using it while I play. This allows me to keep playing games, which I really enjoy, and maintain a general baseline for daily activity.

Now I’ve kind of made it a personal rule that if I want to play a game, I have to bike the whole time. It really helps me quite a bit.

Thanks!

I like to play video games, part of the reason I gained so much weight to begin. I decided I wanted to lose weight, but I still wanted to play video games and, well, I rather detested running. I bought a cheap exercise bike and started using it while I play. Now I’ve made it a rule that if I want to play a video game, I have to use the bike for the entire time.

You’re definitely not ugly. You’re very very similar to my cousin. He was overweight for several years but did TONS of biking and started doing walks/runs when he went overseas for job training. Now he’s super trim and looks REALLY good.

Instead of soda, have you tried cold-brew teas? Instead of buying soda, try picking up something like barley tea and cold brewing it. It’s super different but it helps if you’re an idle drinker. Low caloric, good earthy taste.

Try doing /r/mealprepsunday to cook a lot of food on one day and eat it throughout the week. It’ll save you money and keep you eating healthy. You can even cook up food similar to fast food, but you control the ingredients so it’s significantly healthier for you.

At your desk? I KNOW this looks silly, but if your manager is open to it, get one of these so you can pedal while you work. Imagine the additional caloric burn by idly pedaling these 8+ hours a day.

ALSO, consider getting a Fitbit. If you get one, hit me up and I’ll continually send you walking challenges.

Lastly, try doing P90X nightly. You don’t have to actually follow them step for step, just do the activities to the best you can WITHOUT stressing your body.

I think a lot of people have suggested great things for food so far.
I agree on hard boiled eggs as a great way to go– I don’t care for them plain, but a bit of garlic salt makes them super tasty. Quesadillas can be low calorie if you make them yourself and don’t add too much cheese. I use low-carb tortilla (100 vs 210 calories), skim milk cheese (70 calories for 1/4 cup) and then whatever other ingredients I have on hand, like chicken, shrimp, onion, ham, etc.

As for coffee in your milk – have you considered soy or almond milk? You might not realize how many calories you’re actually drinking. On the other hand, you might wanna start weening yourself off adding stuff to your coffee altogether if you really drink a ton of it.

Last – I don’t know if this is something you could fit in your truck on the passenger side, but I use an under-desk elliptical to help combat some of my sedentary-ness at my desk job. There’s smaller, cheaper versions than what I have like this one: folding bike.

If you’re not going to use a proper elliptical, and you want to use it sitting down, then you might as well just get one of the bike peddle ones

This is the one I have. Works great, and it’s super cheap and lightweight.
