It’s thin and doesn’t always prevent pain, but it helps most of the time for me and reduces tooth wear. Make sure it covers the entirety of the top row of your teeth. If it doesn’t, you could cause odd tooth wear, which could affect your bite.

Definitely drink a lot of water, too! I got a half-gallon jug so I don’t have to fill it up as often.
