I have these and they work fine. I’m not picky about headphones so long as they don’t sound like absolute shit. They’re very durable, I’ve thrown them around a bunch of times after accidentally catching the cord on something lmao. Comfortable, adjustable, and they fold up for storage as well. I had the older model for years before getting these (they were so old the foam was flaking away and I only stopped using them because the cord began to fray – they’re actually still in a closet somewhere because they literally still work fine otherwise) and I did notice a marked difference in the sound quality

Sony ZX Series Wired On-Ear Headphones, Black MDR-ZX110
Sorry, should have clarified earlier, made the post while pretty tired
·
I got the Elite Strap since day1 and VRcover. With both those accessories my Quest2 has become very comfortable.
For sound i use these
which i bought for 10 bucks. For that price the sound quality is great (about on par with CV1 sound)
only hassle is that you have to pluck the cables into your top so you don’t get entangled since its a bit long.

Some Amazon reviewers said what you said: That the 700N version was better.
I had decided to order the 510N model and try them both, but it turns out that, because they touch your body (and Covid), I can’t return either pair unless I don’t even open the box. Also, it looks like the JLab Studio Pro that u/wijnandsj recommended would be a better choice for me. So I think I’m going to end up keeping the 710N ones unless I really don’t like them for some reason and hope Amazon will let me return them anyway, but I am checking further into the JLab ones.
In case someone else needs headphones but can’t afford them, I recommend a low-end pair that I use just for listening to Zoom meetings or podcasts on my computer if I have trouble hearing: MDR-ZX110. They’re wired, and there’s padding on the headband part, plus they’re on-ear, although way better than really cheap ones. Good padding around the hearing to keep them on and prevent sound leak. so comparable except not great sound quality. They’re so inexpensive and so good for simple uses that I almost ordered a second pair in case they aren’t available anymore.

Audio-Technica ATH-M20X or Beats EP?
Budget: They are the same price right now. Around a 80dlls
Source: Phone or PC.
Requirements for Isolation: I walk the dog on a street with some cars and buses that sometimes make it hard to listen to the music/podcast.
Preferred tonal balance: No idea, I have a low end headphones now.
Past headphones: Sony ZX Series Wired
Preferred Music: Some heavy metal (Slayer, Sepultura…), Some pop (HAIM, Ariana), and Weakerthans.
What would you like to improve on from your set-up: audio quality and a little bit more isolation.

i use those sony headphones. They are cheap, light, fit well on the headset and provide good sound quality. I put the extra cable in my shirt so i dont get tangled up.
·
Keep in mind that they should be light and not too loose and not to tight. I personally use these
I mean they are not some hifi headphones, but they are a definitive improvement over the headset audio and they are light and cheap. I shove the excess cable into my t-shirt and i’m good to go.

headphones. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NJ2M33I/
·
If you need something really cheap, the Sony Zx is ok. Audio Technica is the best from $30-$200, and Sennheiser for everything over. Make sure you buy the wired models.
·
who said anything about $100?
you can literally get a pair of decent headphones for $10
check your privilege.
·
I personally use the Sony MDR-ZX110 ($10 on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDRZX110-BLK-Stereo-Headphones/dp/B00NJ2M33I) – they fold up pretty flat and are easy to store, con is the cord is split.
Halter Technical are headphones made by a sound mixer to solve some of the Sony’s problems – https://www.haltertechnical.com/products.html
I don’t like them because they don’t fold up as small, and that is important to my storage workflow (and no one has complained about the Sonys)
In Covid times, a lot of mixers picked up cheap bulk packs of headphones and sold them to production as expendables so everyone got their own new pair

Head’s up, the look inside your body book says it can’t be delivered to a gift registry address for some reason. I have no idea why: that’s a new issue for me!

Hi, I’d like some opinions for choosing between 2 options of headphones. I’m looking to upgrade from my old Sony MDRZX110 since these have worn down within the past year.
I have zero experience for high quality headphones, so anything better than my old Sony’s will do. Mainly considering price, comfort (can be worn for 6 hours continuously), and durability.
The HD598 are more than double the price, and based on the ratings it seems to be better. Should I invest in the more expensive headphones and expect higher quality sounds, comfort and durability? Or should I stick with the cheaper HD429?
Thanks!

I’ve used those same headphones for about 5 years now; they’re only like $10-20 on Amazon.
