i decided im going to keep the jbls and return the Sonys anyways.

I would honestly advise against getting them and look for something else honestly, looking at the reviews of the 900s which are pretty much the same headphones, there are a shit load of people saying the plastic snapped in less than a year https://www.amazon.com/Sony-WH-XB900N-Wireless-Canceling-Headphones/dp/B07RM8WQ8G/ref=sr\_1\_3?keywords=sony+xb900n&qid=1639197039&sr=8-3

Try the Sonys WH-XB900N. I just got done comparing this to the one OP posted and it’s got the same sound and extra base with same battery. Only difference is the newer models have way better noise cancelation and extra mics.

Here’s the Amazon link.

It would take enormous resources and effort to build a room that blocks bass frequencies even moderately well.

The only option that will work effectively is noise-cancelling headphones, and the good ones cost at least 200$.

You are in luck though, because one of the best noise-cancelling models money can buy is currently on special for half price:

I recommend you buy them as soon as possible, as they’re worth 250$, and the discounted price is due to expire soon.

If you are serious about the extent to which low frequency sound is affecting you, then sell something if you have to, unless you want to put up with another year of bass disturbance while you wait for those noise-cancelling headphones to be discounted again.

My several years old Sennheiser PC360’s have finally crapped out and I’ve been looking for a replacement. I purchased these headphones on sale for $123 but they do not include a mic. Is it worth cancelling to get these Phillips instead?

i have an xfx rx470 black edition (hotswappable led fans) but that’s a bit out if your price range, lmk if your interested in that though. i also have a hyper 212 led but the heatsink got bent pretty bad when moving my pc, so i’ll send you the fan for free if you pay shipping. the LED is red if that matters. clips right on to a hyper 212.

as for some general advice: when i was in high school I had a job basically all 4 years. yeah i worked my ass off, but i also paid for and built myself a pretty baller pc for a 16 year old and had plenty of extra money for non gaming things. and for the headphones, i reccomend the sony wh xb900n if you want to splurge and go new. they go on sale on amazon all the time (i paid 128$, currently 148$: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RM8WQ8G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_lPM7DbG5G7G9F ). they have pretty decent noise canceling (not as good as the xm3s which are also on sale for 278$ if you really want to splurge), can be used wired (sounds like trash unless the headphones are on though), and have great battery life (30 hours claimed. haven’t been able to get it below 70% from 1 full day of use coming home from college on trains). one of the best purchases i’ve made in a while.

If the Sony’s are too pricey (that’s more than I’d want to spend on headphones too) check these as a cheaper option.

If I had to choose between those I’d go with the HyperX because they’re Bluetooth and the earpads look comfy. Wireless functionality with Bluetooth is such a big deal to me that I wouldn’t consider buying any wired headphones anymore, even if I planned on using them wired part of the time.

Has anyone checked out the the Sony WH-XB900Ns?

They’re on sale today for like half price, and I want to get a set of noise cancelling headphones for my fiancée for Christmas. I don’t think she’ll really like the bass-heavy aspect of it, so that’s my biggest hesitation right now. Is it possible to turn that off in the app? It didn’t look that that was an option.

Her biggest requirement is that they’re noise canceling and comfortable. Her biggest use will probably be when flying. If y’all have a better recommendation in the $100-150 range, I’m all ears.

Looking to buy my sister the best wireless/bt headphones I can find in the 150-200 range.

Right now I see

The Sony XB900N

Sennheiser HD 350BT

But I also see Beats are on sale right now

Beats Studio3

Beats Solo3 Wireless

I really dont know much about headphones, she doesnt either. But are any of those above considered good? Any better options? Something I am missing? I’m sure she would prefer wireless over wired, but if one has both options that would be cool. It would mostly be for audio books and music.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is the Sony WH-XB900N/B a good deal? Trying to snag a good headphone price for less than $100 at most. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RM8WQ8G/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

It really depends on your budget and the style you are looking for. Other commenters here have listed some good options at multiple price points, but I’ll throw my hat in the ring as well.

I gravitate towards over ear headphones while others swear by IEMs.

Sony WH-XB900N headphones are very similar to the WH-1000XM3 model, but cost a fair amount less and also give you the following features:

A: Bluetooth
B: Excellent noise cancellation
C: 50ohms when connected via cable to the Quad DAC
D: Alexa or Google Assistant integration
E: Sony Headphones Connect application provides myriad fine tuning options (far too many to list here)

I use them for studio work as well as personal enjoyment, in addition to the previously mentioned XM3s and a pair of Audio-Technica monitors.
Amazon currently has them listed at the full retail price of $249.99, but if you can remain patient, they’ll most likely drop back down to ~$180.00, as that’s what the price was last month, and may be even less when Prime Day eventually happens.

I’m sure you can find something that suits you without breaking the bank though. Just search for options that are made by a reputable company, provide 50ohms+ impedance and has a trustworthy amount of positive reviews.
