I suspect this really depends on the individual’s environment. I use noise canceling, Bluetooth headphones, and the noise canceling makes little difference. NC headphones are great for removing lower, consistent sounds. If you live somewhere where this is an issue, then you really should get NC headphones. My place is generally quiet, until my son starts playing his drum kit. As such, the headphones have nothing to cancel, and they really can’t deal with drums.
I’m using these: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDRZX770BN-Bluetooth-Canceling-Headset/dp/B00TA4HR7Q

They are available outside of Costco as well:(http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDRZX770BN-Bluetooth-Canceling-Headset/dp/B00TA4HR7Q/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8). If I choose to buy wireless headphones, do you know if they will sound better when wired? Also, I don’t know too much about noise-cancelling, but does reducing the frequencies you can hear negatively impact the sound quality?

The blue version is $80 less than the black. Are there any other headphones you would recommend other than these?
