Got the Sony MDR10RBTs more than 2 years ago and they’ve never disappointed, use them daily and they still look and feel brand new. Great sound, super light & comfortable, and they look nice if you care about that. Also wireless (optional, you can use a cable and not have to charge them).

They’re just at the upper limit of your budget but they were incredibly worth it to me. If mine broke I’d almost definitely get the same model again.

I figured as much. Honestly, I think you are better off going down the bluetooth route for your purposes. The convenience will outweigh the loss of fidelity for you.

Just tossing another option out, the Sony MDR10RBT is also decent I believe and likely a bit closer to your budget.

I’ve had my Sony MDR10RBT headphones for over a year and absolutely love them for weight lifting/running. They’re wireless over the ear headphones. I tried a range of super cheap up to $80 ear buds and nothing stayed put for more than a few minutes during a workout in my cooky ears. Not really into Beats but I still splurged somewhat to go wireless- better value at $200 and really makes all the difference when you’re lifting. Great sound quality and certainly stay put, whether it’s half marathons or decline situps. I use them at school and for leisure as well. I wipe off the ear sweat once or twice through my workout, really my only nuisance as opposed to ear buds. Cushioning hasn’t warped at all from this. Definitely a great purchase!

Currently looking at the Sony MDR10RBT model.

I’d like to know if they will pair well with the iPhone 5 and 6 Plus without any issues. Has anyone heard of any issues?

Thanks in advance.

Well there are wireless headphones that come with a cable so you can use them both ways like this one. The audio quality of bluetooth using aptx codec is pretty decent.

Hi, my relative asked me to find them some headphones without pesky wires and also have decent sound, and I’m here to look for some guidance on what I should choose.

Budget – <$300 USD

Source – Phone

Requirements for Isolation – Decent isolation would be nice. These headphones will be used mostly outside doing yard work/mowing.

Preferred Type of Headphone – MUST be bluetooth and over ear headphones

Preferred tonal balance – balanced or bassy, but honestly, I don’t think they care.

Past headphones – on ear Beats ;_; (Dislikes: wired and on ear)

Preferred Music – Country, Rock, Pop

What would you like to improve on from your set-up – Good bluetooth connectivity and decent sound isolation.

Headphones that I’ve found on amazon: Sony MDR10RBT – $179.99, Sennheiser MM 550-X – $256.99, ATH-WS99BT – $235.79. I’m open to other recommendations.

Bonus Question: Some wireless headphones come with bases for charging and such. Does your music have to be run through this base for wireless function? Do these wireless headphones with bases have a certain range to function even if both your phone and headphones are within close range of each other, in other words, are the headphones dependant on the base?

Closest I can get you is the Sony MDR10RBT. It’s bluetooth with pretty smooth bass and full-size at that.
