I would suggest a gk61. It is very reasonably priced, and you can turn off the rgb.

Gateron reds? If so, I found something on amazon for 59 with 61 keys!

SKYLOONG GK61 plastic case gateron red is equivalent to mx red hotswap pcb so you can change the switches if you ever need to .

I’drecommend this as it is cheap and hotswappable. As for switch, many recommend browns as they are a sort of middle of the road switch, but it all depends what you like. I can give you suggestions all day long, but ultimately, if you don’t like it, it won’t matter. Maybe go to best buy or something and try out switches to see what you like.

Take a look at a gk61. It’s really the only keeb i recommend for beginners as it’s hotswappable and cheap.

highly recommend a gk61. It’s a cheap, it’s reliable, and it’s a good budget board. This was also my first mechanical keyboard, and I still use it to this day as a switch tester.

The GK61 is 50 bucks on Amazon right now with gat reds. Though if you really like rgb I’d probably steer clear of the GK61. The software isn’t too horrible, but it isn’t great either. Then again I’ve only tried changing solid colors. And my switches tint everything yellow so rgb doesn’t look great anyway…
I’ve lubed my switches and stabs and added foam under the pcb, which produces a nice sound imo. I’m thinking of getting a brass plate though
