Sennheiser has a series that uses RF.
I guess you could find a cheap used one and canibalize parts

I have Sennheiser RF 175 wireless headphones https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-RS-175-Wireless-Headphone/dp/B00SLUI5SA/ref=pd_bxgy_img_2/130-4327192-8403856?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00SLUI5SA&pd_rd_r=f5473526-e1a4-401c-b043-01306f644147&pd_rd_w=TVuCC&pd_rd_wg=uQD4a&pf_rd_p…
They are awesome.
I like to use them with my PC as well as TV, which are beside each other. I have to unplug from one device to plug into another, and wind up doing this a couple times every day. I fear that headphone jacks are not meant for constant re-plugging, and it’s rather quite an inconvenience, as you can imagine. What device can I buy so I can “split” my headphones into two, and have both devices p,urged in at the same time. Is it a mixer? I don’t mind if I hear both audio, because I actually only use one device at a time. Any suggestions on what’s best to get?

I use Sennheiser headphones connected to the audio out of the TV. This allows me to listen to both at the same time. However, since the audio is delayed a bit in the headphones being able to hear both at once is not ideal. My headphones are open back. These are closed back which might be better if you want to have both on at the same time.
·
Oops, sorry, I wasn’t clear enough. Those are my tv headphones. While wireless, you have to plug the support stand to the tv still.

I want the sennheiser RS 175s. Everything about them seems pretty great, but I’m not really much of an audiophile, and almost $400 after tax is a bit steep, for me.
I’m wondering if anybody has any experience with these. I’m primarily worried about latency, a millisecond or two is fine but much more than that and it’d be a pretty big problem. Also, do they have an option to be wired? I’ll probably be buying them, but I’d appreciate any other options.
·
Yep! The PC Part Picker list has them listed, but they’re Sennheiser RS 175’s. I VERY much like the sound quality after some adjustments with APO Equalizer and the Peace UI, but it’s not necessary. What I DON’T like it if you have kind of a cone-ish shaped head then it can hurt after extended use because there’s no padding at the very top due to the charging slots. Here’s a link for you! https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-RS-175-Wireless-Headphone/dp/B00SLUI5SA

I’ll be honest with you, the difference isn’t world-shaking, but certainly audible. Especially once you’ve heard a decent headphone and directly compare the two.
There’s a reason why any headphone chasing audio quality doesn’t use Bluetooth or wireless in general. However, if you’re willing to give up 30% of audio for the added convenience, it’s up too you. As well, you’ll pay more for a Bluetooth headphones than a regular.
Take a look at these
But if you want the full experience, let me know

One guy in my office uses this Sennheiser unit, and I know that it has an optical input as well as an analog input. It sounds pretty good too. Is this what you were looking for?
·
Budget: 300 or less
Source: PC/Laptop
Isolation: A lot. Mostly used in an area with lots of noise pollution
Public: No
Type :Full Sized
Tonal Balance: No idea, probably balanced, mostly used for gaming/music/movies
Past Headphones: Audio-Technica AD700. Nice headphones, but next to no isolations. Also the cord is starting to break
I found a pair of Wireless Sennheiser’s that I liked. Just looking for any feedback that I can get on them or something that may fit me better. I would like a wireless headset as I don’t have a great set up for cords at the moment.

Sennheiser RS 175 It’s on sale on amazon for $209 right now.(I got mine for $260 like 3 weeks ago =(… )
Coming from a Logitech G930 I replaced it with this.
PROS:
- It uses 2 AAA batteries which is easily replaceable by twisting the ear cups.
- 18 hr battery life
- Sorround sound(simulated)
- Wireless transmitter that also acts as a charging dock
CONS:
- No mic
·
They should OP as they’re essentially a rebranded PX4. I have mine set up in the way you describe, that way I can use it on multiple consoles or on my TV without having to re-arrange anything. Also see if you can find a pair of PX4s instead they’ll be much cheaper and the sound quality will likely be the same. Also one suggestion I have if money is no object for you in this situation I would highly recommend you pick up a pair of Sennheiser RS 175 over any (wireless) “gaming” headset, but again I only recommend this headset if you’re not on a budget.

I have an older Sennheiser wireless set that I really like. This is the modern version of it:
Sounds great and is very comfortable. Range is easily good enough for the same room, possibly the next room depending on your home layout. It’s not going to work on another floor or 2 rooms away. At least mine won’t, maybe the newer model will. (Since this is not Bluetooth there is no way for the controls on the headphones to talk to the PC. You get no track skip.)
The base station has analog RCA inputs and an optical input, so I got an inexpensive USB DAC for my PC which has an optical output. If your rig already has optical out you would not need that.

Sound quality and comfort are pretty great, but it is made for music so it has no fancy surround sound stuff, no gizmos at all. Also note that they are open back cans so you will not be isolated from sound in the room, AND anyone in the room with you may hear noise coming from you.

If I drop the open back, what is your opinion on these?

I don’t have them but I’ve heard good things. Search rf headphones on Amazon and a few other options come up as well.

- Budget – $300
- Source – desktop PC, what i require are wireless headphones that will allow for a range of at least 20 meters away from the desktop, a dongle or receiver would be required too to allow that. I was contemplating buying the Sennheiser RS 175 but they seem outdated.
https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-RS-175-Wireless-Headphone/dp/B00SLUI5SA/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=sennheiser+rs185&qid=1601917502&sr=8-2
Can Bluetooth headphones allow for such a range if given a strong enough receiver? where do i get such a bluetooth receiver for my desktop? - Requirements for Isolation – not required
- Will you be using these Headphones in Public? No
- Preferred Type of Headphone – full sized wireless headphones
- Preferred tonal balance – doesn’t matter as much
- Preferred Music – classical, folk, rock, pop

Looking for low-latency mic monitoring headphones
I have an XLR mic connected to a Focusrite audio interface. The Focusrite is connected to my PC via USB and my headphones via 3.5mm.
I really like being able to directly monitor my mic alongside desktop audio as it keeps me talking at a normal volume and not yelling.
I want to move from a 3.5mm connection to my headphones to a wireless connection, but I’ve used some 3.5mm to bluetooth devices before and am certain there would be too much lag between the interface and bluetooth headphones to use for monitoring.
Here’s a diagram of what I have vs what I want: https://i.imgur.com/KNdGPgO.png
There are a bunch of products that look promising like Sennheiser RS 175 RF, Sony RF400 (non-affiliate links to Amazon), or many other RF headsets aimed at TV applications, but I haven’t been able to figure out what their effective latency is.
My budget is anywhere below $400.

I have the 2015 shield. Have a similar situation where I want to binge watch TV during late night / early hours of the day without bothering others.
Initially tried with my BT headphones, but they constantly crapped out, although they have no issues with my phone. So I blamed it on the shield’s BT not being refined enough (maybe it’s better now through SW updates?), and looked for a more solid option that would last.
After some research, this is what I ended up with:
- shield –> HDMI cable –> 4K TV
- 4K TV –> optical output –> Sennheiser RS175 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SLUI5SA)
I have the Sennheiser base right next to the TV. Changed the TV settings to output audio through both the TV’s speakers and optical. Now when I watch TV during normal hours, I just jack up the volume with the TV remote, and turn it down to 0 during off hours and use the Sennheiser headphone.
The Sennheiser RS175 can be a bit pricey, based on your budget, but boy does it work fineee. I lucked out with a Amazon Warehouse deal for half the price for what practically was a brand new unit, so that’s another option. You can also get the headphone standalone (HDR175: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TV08IZY) as an upgrade, and pair with an existing base, so 2 people and listen in sync.
There’s other models in this line, the RS175 is kinda middle-of-the-pack. This page tries to sum them up: https://majorhifi.com/sennheiser-rs-195-vs-185-vs-175-vs-165-vs-135/.

Bought these for my father, they lasted 5 years and then I think he got them wet walking outside in the rain when he was taking the garbage out multiple times. He would even use them in the tub. I know, he’s weird. Bought a new pair for him, they work great.

I just got a Sennheiser RS 175, and so far I’ve been appalled at how awful the build quality is. What really bothers me is the ear pads though: they feel super flimsy and cheap. A low-end headset I had before this has way better ear pads. I looked at third-party pads, but there isn’t a huge selection, and they’re all duplicates of the originals. There’s the velvet option, which I hear are more comfortable, but I don’t want to sacrifice noise isolation (used in an office setting).
Any suggestions for what I can do?
·
I have this and it works well, but no integrated mic.

·
do you mean bluetooth or RF? because bluetooth latency is not great for gaming and ~$200 will get you an this RF setup
·
Been doing my own research and, having been a fan of Sennheiser, I’m thinking about these:
·
Budget up to 200€ (considering price differences that’s probably equivalent to around $180).
Source Stereo and TV
Isolation No ANC needed, closed back
Type Circumaural
Balance Balanced 😉
Special Wireless
Location Germany, price comparison site http://idealo.de
My dad needs new wireless headphones. From my googling pretty much everything seems to be bluetooth, even googling for “rf headphones” gives me BT reviews -.-
A requirement is a decent range as he not only uses them for music or watching TV in the living room but also listening to music while mowing the lawn around the house. The real world distance needed should be around 20m (65 ft) but includes at least one proper wall.
My current pick is the Sennheiser RS 175 (amazon.com) ($167.90 / 188.99€), but according to the reviews I found it seemes to be seen as overpriced for what it offers.
Any help? 🙂

are the Sennheiser RS 175 wireless complete junk?

These are my favorite wireless headphones I’ve personally tried. They are on the higher end of pricing though. A cheaper set of Sony’s is still great too. If you are looking closer to the $100 area, my brother has these and likes them a lot. If you really want to go cheaper at first though, Unbox Therapy did a review on these and really like them

Headsets = with mic
Headphones = no mic
Here is the best set you can get in that price range
