If i don’t care about my surroundings and let go of my fear of getting stabbed from my blindspot, with my updated description, what would you recommend? I’m not looking to spend more than this

Budget – $200
Source – PC
Requirements for Isolation – none required
Will you be using these Headphones in Public? – no
Preferred Type of Headphone – Full-sized/over ear
Preferred tonal balance – neutral but would like decent bass
Past headphones – been using HyperX Clouds for years, before then was Razer somethings.
Preferred Music – a lot of electro, rock and also classical
What would you like to improve on from your set-up – I’m looking for wireless headphones that are comfortable for all-day use, was looking at either the Sennheiser RS 165 or RS 160s, but am open to suggestions.

Thanks 🙂

My goal is keep things under $200 but that’s not a hard limit.

  • Plugged into my guitar amp so I can play at night in my apartment.
  • Plugged into my Samsung Note 5 while traveling.

Requirements for Isolation

Isolation is important since I’ll be using these on planes.

Preferred Type of Headphone

Either full size or on ear would be preferable. In ears always get uncomfortable after using them for a while.

Preferred tonal balance

I prefer a more natural balanced tonal range overall although if the bass has some extra kick that works for me as long as it’s a nice tight bass and not too sloppy.

Past headphones

I haven’t had a nice pair of headphones for over a decade and those were some Bose headphones I got when I worked there in high school.

Preferred Music

I’ll mostly be using these headphones to play rock and blues on the guitar. When traveling they would be used to play Spotify on my phone. Below are some of the artists/genres I listen to a lot.

  • Live Jam Music: Phish/Grateful Dead
  • Hip-Hop: Brother Ali, Atmosphere, Cunninglynguists
  • Electronic: Gramatik, Pretty Lights
  • Soul/Funk: James Brown, Al Green, Otis Redding
  • Bluegrass: Leftover Salmon, Brothers Comatose

What am I looking for?

I would basically like to get a decent pair of wireless headphones to play guitar with without worrying about a chord getting in my way. I have a decent appreciation of sound quality but I’m definitely not an audiophile.

Since I would use them on planes having some noise canceling qualities would be nice but if that feature proves to be too expensive I could live without it. I travel from San Francisco to the East Coast and Europe a few times a year.

These options look solid but not sure if it’s worth it to upgrade from the RS-165 to the RS-170. Maybe the 160?
