Sony designed their drive to be easily user replaceable, Microsoft didn’t. Simple as that. It’s not really about Microsoft giving anyone a “fuck you”.
It’s super easy to swap the hard drive. There’s no desoldering or heat gun nonsense you have to do. As long as you have the right screw bits you can do it in 10 minutes or less. The disk cloning/partitioning needed will take you longer than the physical install.
No, it might not be as super simple as the PS4 was, but it’s hardly rocket science if you’re comfortable using the right software tools and you’re okay with opening your Xbox.
