you definitely got the glowy pink look figured out! I think you did a great job on the eyeliner/shadow and wish i had a steady hand like you! I couldnt tell if you filled in your brows or not, but they do look a bit strong. if you are filling them in, consider doing it lighter next time– or if im totally wrong and those are your natural brows, whatever just rock it!

Also if you feel up for it i would recommend trying a peach fuzz shaver/exfoliator to remove some fuzz and make your face smoother. Right now your powder seems to be clinging to the peach fuzz and making it stand out more than it should. I would totally recommend these face/eyebrow shavers on amazon and theyre great. Anyways, gently shaving with these is wonder, whether its your whole face or just the moustache area. It really helps and is easy to use.

anyways youre doing great!

Have you tried shaving your face? I know this sounds weird, but we usually have very fine hairs on our face and sometimes foundation sits weird on it. The areas you’ve mentioned are ones that can have longer/coarser hair and that may be why it’s clumping weirdly. They make facial razors like these that give you a little more precise control than a traditional razor.

Btdt. Not fun.

Did you use an actual razor? Like the standard for shaving legs? Bc that’s where I went wrong. It’s too big.

Try this – Schick Hydro Silk Touch-Up Multipurpose Exfoliating Dermaplaning Tool, Eyebrow Razor, and Facial Razor with Precision Cover

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0787GLBMV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_FMSC1BVH7GBC2FH45KJ3

This is what I use now. I have an Amazon subscription. A pack a month. That way I’m not tempted to reuse them. It’s amazing to see the dead skin flaking off. And the peach fuzz is crazy. I’m careful to cleanse afterward though bc it really opens pores and brings out all the gunk to the surface. I usually cleanse and do a deep sea mud mask after, then moisturize.

First, I hope your chemo is over and achieved it’s purpose and that things are going the right way! I do shave the peach fuzz off my face, which is another thing that started with menopause. I haven’t noticed a difference. What grows back is the same fuzz and same whiskers. That’s said, you could also try waxing?

Here’s what I use: Schick Hydro Silk Touch-Up Multipurpose Exfoliating Dermaplaning Tool, Eyebrow Razor, and Facial Razor with Precision Cover, 3 Count (Packaging May Vary) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0787GLBMV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_kUfdGbC7QN0HH

I swear by these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0787GLBMV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_T1Z5PVAHZGFT0PDF7J0N

I’ve used them for over a year now. I don’t even wax my eyebrows anymore! I have sensitive skin so I make sure I haven’t done any exfoliation at least a few days beforehand. I cleanse my face first, and pull back all the hair I want to keep with a headband (I’ve accidentally gotten a little to close to my hairline once or twice). I use a mirror I can get really close to because #almost40yearoldeyes

I hold the razor at an angle and use small strokes, sloooowly. I try to just go section by section so I don’t hit an area more than once. Be very careful not to go over any blemishes or beauty marks on your skin. Even if it’s tempting to hit that zit that is healing and looking kinda dry… Don’t do it!

Once I’m done I rinse my skin thoroughly and use a slightly heavier moisturizer than I would normally.

I can normally get two uses out of one razor. My skin is fairly dry and it is amazing (and kinda gross) how much dead skin comes off. I also have a lot of peach fuzz from being on steroids long term and it has made such a difference in the way my makeup looks and feels.

would totally second this I got these face/eyebrow shavers on amazon and theyre great. they only really made me face react a bit once when i was being a bit haphazaard, but i just applied some lotion to the spot and it was fine in an hour. Anyways, gently shaving with these is wonder, whether its your whole face or just the moustache area. OP, seriously recommend, do it like two days before your shoot and it will make your face look and feel so smooth!

I think makes your makeup look smoother. I actually had to stop waxing all together back in January because I was having such bad reactions. I’ve been using a dermaplanning tool instead to remove hair and its been great! I feel like there is no difference between waxing and shaving as far as makeup application goes – same results!

Got this pack off Amazon:

I really like deemaplaning. They’re small, gentle razors and I only need to do it every week or two after showering. Bonus: light exfoliating and helps makeup application. I bought a 3 pack on Amazon and each one lasts me 2-3 weeks with good care. But be careful because they are SHARP and I accidentally took off some eyebrow one time.

Eyebrow tailoring is a serious game changer. Im gonna keep slamming that one home. Nail clipper sounds really scary, but I’m glad you feel good about the results!

There are some cheap razors around $5

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0787GLBMV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_PpddGbCXWME7E

I used an electric trimmer and tweezers, but went waaaay overboard on oneside and it’s taking weeks for it to grow back in… So I just fill them in with makeup.

I use facial shavers! No soap no nothing, sitting over the toilet. When I was trying to shave with normal shaver it was same – Ingrowns and a lot left. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0787GLBMV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_C-6YFbSVFWK31?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Oooh, I’ve messed with that at home just a little bit but definitely wouldn’t pay for it. I’ve used these and find that they’re useful, but if your skin is dry/sensitive I’d be super extra careful. Moisturizing before/after with lotion that you know works for your skin is definitely necessary

I usually shave my peach fuzz off (about once a month) using the Schick hydro silk razor (link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0787GLBMV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_Z5GJFPCJVXBC21RD2412). I do it on a clean wet face and use the neutrogena skin clearing shaving cream for better glide, but I’m sure you could use any product for the same effect. I don’t reuse the same razor because I’m very acne-prone.

More proof that she has no real friends. When I started complaining about mustache/hair issues to friends, they turned me on to the “eyebrow trimmer” AKA the Schick hydro razor or similar, and now I always have two or three in my car, a few in my work bag and a gazillion floating around all our bathrooms for hair emergencies. Because razors go dull and you don’t want to scrape your face with the same thing you’re using on your pubic hair and legs and underarms. You want something super sharp and clean.

It’s gross that she crossed that boundary and never outright asked for advice, or prepared in advance for stubble that happens literally every single day of her life, dependably, by a certain time of night.

I mean if she had her period, wouldn’t she bring a few tampons in her pocket to change over when she knew she’d be out late? Don’t answer that…..

Eyebrow Razor. Not as thorough as a tweezer, but pain free, and the blades are really small so unlikely to cut skin.

I like using these. Much less painful and annoying than waxing. My hair hasn’t come back any thicker or darker either. My skin has also been glowing a little more since they get rid of dead skin as well. 10/10 worth it imo. Makes your skin softer if you lotion after and really brightens your complexion. Some derms actually recommend shaving your face so dirt/dead skin cells/ allergens don’t get caught in your facial hair. Best of luck!

I use that on the tops of my brows to keep them neat. Helps really keep them “straight” too. And on the bottom I just pluck to keep a slight arch. I prefer slight archs vs high ones. High ones can age you, in my opinion.

I tried dermaplaning yesterday and it left my skin sooo smooth.

I bought a 3 pack on Amazon for $ 5.00

Hydro Silk smooth something or other.
I watched a video on YouTube but I would be careful not to overdo it (like taking extra passes with the razor).

I washed my face before and after and noticed good results.

I used a non fragranced, sensitive skin moisturizing cream afterwards because my skin was a little irritated.

HELP HER.

I am Native American. My mother carries the recessive gene for red hair/blue eyes that Cherokee people often have, so my siblings were lucky enough to have light body hair. Because of this, my mother’s rule was that we couldn’t start shaving our legs until we were 12. I was younger than all my blonde-body-haired siblings, so the rule worked for them. Once I got to be in the 4th or 5th grade though, my hair was black black on my legs. I couldn’t wear skirts or shorts to school anymore because of an arbitrary rule that didn’t suit my body led to snickering and whispering from non-friends and “dude you need to shave” from friends.

HOWEVER, I wouldn’t tweeze her eyebrows, since you don’t know how her brows are going to end up migrating on her tiny little face over the next several years. I would get an eyebrow razor, like this one, so everything will grow back the same and she doesn’t end up with accidental bald spots

I randomly came across that photo yesterday (god knows why I took it in the first place, I was in a taxi in Beijing) but I had no idea my hyperpigmentation had faded so much since that photo was taken in April 2018. I don’t do anything too special, the usual sort of stuff, but I have to say Skinceuticals CE Ferulic has definitely made the most difference. I got it to see if it lived up to the hype, and damn it, it did lol. Although I am “lucky” (good job, no kids, aka I am very fortunate to have some money to spend) that it doesn’t totally break the bank, but dang is it expensive, just based on principle! I guess I’m sticking with it, though!

I used to just wash my face at night and in the morning in the shower, and then a friend of mine was talking to me about her “routine” one day (she’s older than I and has FLAWLESS skin) which got me Googling. Which brought me to this and other skincare subs. There ensued borderline obsession. I have a ways to go, but I honestly didn’t realize how far I’ve come! After a lifetime of doing the bare minimum, getting into a routine was kind of a drag, but once I started to see that I needed less makeup to make my skin look even, I was totally on board and now I really look forward to it every morning and night, thanks in no small part to this sub!ETA: Wow, you girls/guys are SO nice and making me feel so special! I honestly feel like I don’t know what I’m doing and I swear every day I’m googling “Does X conflict with Y”? Haha. But here is what I have been doing:

Morning: Simple toner.

Skinceuticals CE Ferulic.

Kiehl’s moisturizer with a couple drops of The Ordinary’s squalane.

Biore Aqua Rich sunscreen (this stuff is the shit!)

PM:

Cetaphil cream wash.

Neutrogena oil wash (I hate the smell of this – will not be re-purchasing!).

The Ordinary Grand Emulsion 2%.

The Ordinary Buffet.

The Ordinary Rosehip oil.

The Ordinary HA Factors moisturizer if I’m feeling particularly dry that day, but lately I haven’t been needing to use this because the rosehip oil is soooo moisturizing.

Twice a week: The Ordinary AHA + BHA peel.

Few times a week: Random sheet masks I pick up 😛 (I live in Asia so I have a nice supply of random different masks on hand!).

At least once week: Innis Free volcanic clay mask (love this stuff!).Oh! And I also dermaplane every sunday using these cheap little things I get on Amazon. It’s my little Sunday ritual. You know, like church. My face feels like a baby seal, and I mean really, isn’t that the end goal here?

Like I said, I don’t know what I’m doing LOL. But this seems to be working so I’ll keep at it! If anyone sees I’m doing anything obviously stupid, tell me, please 🙂

I LOVE this. You’re gorgeous so you’re going to look fantastic no matter what, but I’ve got some suggestions for small improvements:

  • Blush. You’ve said you don’t like the way it looks, but I think you need something. In photos the absence of blush looks jarring and was the first thing I noticed. Maybe try an extremely subtle color like Tarte’s Exposed (neutral) or Benefit Dandelion (very light pink)? Also, maybe try visiting some makeup counters for advice on the application on your face. It’s possible you haven’t liked blush because you haven’t learned the best location for your particular face shape? Here, you’re going for a sophisticated look, so I think it would look great applied on the sides on your cheekbones. Then sweep only what’s left on the brush onto the apples as a last step. You only want a tiny touch of color there.

  • Eyebrows. Yours are lovely in today’s style, but you want something timeless so that your grandchildren can post their pretty grandma on r/oldschoolcool one day and no one will say “what’s up with her eyebrows?” (Trust us: those of us who lived through the 90s thought our skinny brows looked fantastic. Looking back – not so much. Classic is best!) Go for more of a rounded shape on the inside corners, don’t come in so far on the inner corners, and, overall, use a lighter touch guided by the shape of your actual brows. Your natural brow shape looks very pretty, so your effort should be on lightly shading those and not so much extending and amplifying.

  • I love the bold lipstick, but I agree with another commenter that it’s a little too purple and is washing you out a bit. I appreciate that it matches the roses, though 🙂

  • Minor things for eyes. I love the upper liner and lashes. You nailed retro but timeless! The frosty light color on in your inner corners extends a little too far out. Use a smaller brush to keep it closer to the corners. It looks like you’ve lined your lower lid, and I think it’s making your eyes look smaller. I don’t like the lower liner on your inner corner, either. I’d ditch the lower liner in deference to what you already have: pulling some of the warm brown eyeshadow down on your lower lashline and subtle mascara on the lower lashes.

  • The foundation does look a little cakey, particularly around your jawline. You’ve gotten some application tips, but I see what looks like dry patches of skin on your chin and jaw. Have you tried any chemical exfoliants to smooth your skin? Another thing that may help is dermaplaning. I got these and it gets all the peach fuzz off, exfoliates, and helps makeup look seamless with skin. It seems intimidating but it’s pretty easy!

Hmm I have a bit more sideburn hair I think. I use a dermaplaning tool to “scrape” it off. It gets rid of the dead skin too. 🙂 https://smile.amazon.com/Schick-Multipurpose-Exfoliating-Dermaplaning-Precision/dp/B0787GLBMV

Totally normal, and unavoidable, as others have said. Here are some tools in my hair removal arsenal:

These are advertised for eyebrows, but I use them to remove peachfuzz that grows on my cheeks, near my ears, and hairline at my nape.

Waxing kit for facial waxing to remove mustache and beard-like growth.

These are marketed as bikini trimmers, and they do a fine job there, but I also keep one in my cosmetics drawer for times when I haven’t done a facial wax recently and I need a smooth face. They can be used just with water and give a very close shave with no irritation.

The older I have gotten, the more unsavory hair appears where I don’t want it to be. I use this one with the nose hair attachment after learning the hard way that waxing the hair out of the ends of your nose is NOT a good idea.

nothing fancy….i just use this one from Schick: https://www.amazon.ca/Schick-Womens-Exfoliating-Eyebrow-Trimmer/dp/B0787GLBMV i actually do it on dry skin right before i shower….i don’t use any product because i thought it might make the blades go dull faster (but i’m not sure that is true or not)….i was going to look for a higher quality tool, but these ones work so good i decided to just stick with them

It’s scaled dermaplaning. I would get it done once professionally if you can to see how amazing your skin feels. Not only does it get rid of the peach fuzz, but it exfoliates dead akin off. Then you can get a tool and do it yourself. Your skin will be glowing, if you wear makeup it will go in sooo smoothly. I love it. There are several different types. I used to have this one but an earlier version of it that just stopped charging right after the warranty expired. Then, I used these for awhile but the results were no where near the same:

Schick Silk Touch-Up Multipurpose Exfoliating Dermaplaning Tool, Eyebrow Razor, and Facial Razor with Precision Cover, 3 Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0787GLBMV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_t1uREbC3Z1YXC

Then I got this one, which was better

Kai About Face Products Sonic Smooth Beauty Wand; Includes 1 Battery Operated Wand, Sonic Exfoliator, Gently, Quickly Removes Hair Anywhere, Exfoliates & Eases makeup application https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q2JHMS8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Z2uREbNJV0DAZ

And then I happened to get a flash deal notice for this one

Michael Todd Beauty Sonicsmooth Sonic Dermaplaning Device, Red https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CRQGD7N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_c5uREbDJ9A060

Which just came a couple days ago. I’m going to try it out and it may or may not go back.

Here’s the whole amazon search for you so you can see all the different options

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=dermaplane+razor+for+women+face&ref=is_s

They search was pretty specific, obviously the less words you have the more results you’ll get. I still really love the derma flash, but it’s not worth an investment like that again only to have die.

I would go the dermaplane route instead of the shaving with a razor even though that’s what you’re doing. You seem to get better results because you can see what the one blade is doing, at least I feel that way.

And no, it does not come back any thicker or darker. You won’t start looking like a man if you having done it in a few months, or even ever again.

I’m sorry you’re going through it with your skin right now, but I think your routine sounds good!

Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream is a really good non-irritating moisturizer(it does enough for my skin despite using a retinoid and actives) since you mentioned you feel you might not be getting enough from the Eucerin.

In terms of facial hair removal, dermaplaning is a technique you can have done by a professional, or just do at home. It uses a small kind of razor you would use for eyebrow shaping to remove any hair on the face, as well as layers of dead skin. If your skin was irritated from sugar waxing and Nair, this could be something to consider trying. More info on dermaplaning here: Link Also, the razors are cheap, for example: Amazon

I hope your skin calms down soon! It’s definitely a slow process, but it’ll happen 🙂

You’re best off going to a professional, but if you must do it at home get the brow razors, tweezers, and maybe brow scissors and you should be okay if you follow videos

in your last pic they look especially unflattering and really knocking you down in terms of appearance. Still pretty attractive though.
