I got one of these which isn’t much larger than the pi itself and uses same cable for data/power. Worked well for longhorn too

u/InsightsIE – I recommend against any 8-bit Sony camera for serious work. Coming from Arri, you’re probably accustomed to RAW codecs and cine lenses and might miss the flexibility of ArriRAW in the grade.

If so, you might want to consider a 12-bit RAW-capable camera such as this £1,375 used Sigma fp with an £82.63 Samsung T5 500GB SSD to capture RAW – plus a £449 all-metal Viltrox 20mm T2.0 cine lens, a £59.95 cage and an £18.99 SSD mount. [Referrals]

20mm full frame is a good focal length for self shooters – and for less than £2,000 this camera can give you Cinema DNG RAW image quality and colour like this:

This short film, “Sin-Sin” by filmmaker Yu Yamanaka, was shot with the fp in CinemaDNG RAW. It was scheduled to premiere at Cannes this year (before the festival was canceled):

For day-to-day use, you can use this camera to record to a gradeable 10-bit compressed codec:

Commercial/Promo

Fashion/Glamour/Dance

Motor Sports

Short Film/Narrative

Wedding

Low Light

Documentary

…and it takes still photo images like these:

The Sigma fp is the only camera in this price class that combines a full frame sensor with a 12-bit RAW color palette and is also a very good value for your money.

Hope this is helpful and good luck finding the right camera for your needs!
