Consider buying some headphones, specifically closed-back headphones that don’t leak any sound. Hopefully, these will help block out the sound and maybe you’ll be impressed with the sound quality. Something like:

I have used these with a Casio PX350 and with Yamaha P515. Good sound, confortable for long practice sessions and low cost. I recommend to use the type over the ear and Studio type to avoid adding too much bass.

If your looking for value for price I would recommend Samson SR850 studio reference. They’re bout $50 on Amazon and are some of the BEST producing headphones I’ve ever used. They’re open-ear, with very nearly lossless audio quality in a light frame that’s comfortable and durable.

I doubt these are the ‘best’, but they are very cheap ($35), and I’m quite happy with the sound.
They are comfortable, completely cover my ears, block a lot but not all sound, and their specs are very good (I have no way to verify it they actually meet those specs).

You don’t need a dac/amp with cheap headphones, and most are very easy to drive and probably wouldn’t even scale up with a dac/amp.

https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1541965603&sr=8-9&keywords=akg+m220 ~ $29

You can get a cheap clip-on mic for less than $10 that will sound at least as good as the mic on a cheap gaming headset.

Personally I would spend more than this, but you can definitely get better quality than gaming headphones at this price. Really, I think people should be spending a similar amount on their headphones as on their GPUs, most gamers are totally neglecting audio because they have no idea of the difference it can make.

For those of you with a smaller budget, the Samson SR850 semi-open back headphones are going for 30 bucks on Amazon right now. They usually go for 50. This is a STEAL! I love these headphones

So I’m on a budget and currently using my Sony PS Golds. I was looking for actual production-quality headphones and saw solid reviews for these Samson SR850s. Has anyone used these?

I myself am looking to getting some studio headphones for recording, and I found these.

https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Professional-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS

They’re less than $50 and all the reviews are pretty solid and seems like the headphones are comparable to $100-$150 ones.

Budget: ~$100 total

Source: Desktop (Custom build, no sound card, Z77 Intel Chipset)

Isolation: Pretty good, using it for gaming and video editing.

Last night my cats broke my Logitech G35 set. I do video editing and like to play games. I’m looking to stay within a ~$100 budget for the microphone (preferably one that clips onto the headphones.)

I was looking at the Samson SR850, but not sure about the microphone. The Samson looks a little more comfortable than it’s alternative.

I’ve never really done shopping for a quality pair of headphones before, so this is all new to me. I’ve never used open, or semi-open backs before.

Please let me know what you guys would suggest!

Budget – $50

Source – PC with native sound.

Requirements for Isolation – Not positive.

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? – No

Preferred Type of Headphone – Full or on-ear

Preferred tonal balance – Distinct highs and lows, will be mainly used for gaming.

Preferred Music – These will be used mainly for gaming.

What would you like to improve on from your set-up – Distinct sounds with a good sound-stage for a budget pair of phones.

These are for my little bro. I’m currently looking at the Samson SR 850, but I was hoping to get a closed-alternative to take a look at as well. Thanks.

I know you said cans, but these are still awesome and they are less then $50 if you have Prime:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002LBSEQS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00

I just bought a pair and they sound amazing. Games sound great and I have no issues with pin pointing where a sound is made.

Biggest complaint (if that) is they feel cheap. They do feel like mostly plastic, but they hold up well. I’ve already tossed them off not thinking and they withstood the fall.

They are very comfortable as well and don’t require any DAC or amp.

What do you mean?

I will admit, the price was closer to $50 earlier on Amazon which is what I based my price on, but I guess I should drop it to $20 now that the price is $33 on Amazon. They’re essentially the same as Superlux 668b’s, but with a little more bass and cheaper.

EDIT : OHH, I may have misunderstood you. They sound pretty good imo, I’ve simply bought SHP9500s and don’t have a use for them anymore. They’re semi-open so you have a decent soundstage for FPS games (or just music in general). My issue with them was that the ear cups are circular and I have rather large ears so even though they’re supposed to fit over the ears, they sat ON my ears (on the tips, sort of) and wasn’t quite as comfortable as I had hoped. Then again, even my SHP9500s clip my ears a little so I really do have fairly large ears, lol.

Even if benchmarks might say the 1080 is lagging behind, as long as you set your settings smartly it can still manhandle 1440p 100 fps on stuff like control and metro exodus

$40? Sounds like a set of Samson SR850 will be the best thing you can get your kid.

They are going to be far superior to any Beats or Skullcandy offering. They also look way better too (IMO.)

If you’re just picking out what looks coolest, you’re going to be replacing them often, as those particular brands aren’t well known for quality of sound, or durability of construction.\

There’s also the Koss PortaPro ( https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-koss-porta-pro-x-headphones ) , Koss KSC75 (https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1525894494&sr=1-7&keywords=Koss+portapro ) , Sennheiser HD206 ( https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-206-Closed-Back-Headphones/dp/B06X92G8HG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1525894606&sr=8-1&keywords=sennheiser+hd206), Monoprice 8323 (https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=8323&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8IqH4LD52gIVHLjACh1L1Am4EAQYASABEgJxY_D_BwE),

This could be a good set of headphones for cheap if you want something that has good sound for cheap: Samsons

If you need a mic you could go for a headset or just grab something like this for around 35-40 bucks:Fifine

(but only if you can afford it, otherwise not much you can do if you want a gaming headset b/c they are usually overpriced)

Efficiency doesnt detail a power supply quality, that seasonic is pretty bad while the bq is not recommended for high end cards due to single 12v rail. I put a cx 2017, why not 3600 mhz ram if its 7 dollars more expensive? Its cas 19 so its worse than cas 16 3200 mhz from corsair. Cheaper case to keep costs down and sabrent rocket instead of QLC Crucial p1.

Hey,

The samson sr850 or the ksc75 is what i would go for at this price point, you dont have alot of options seeing as youre limited to those webstores. Full disclosure; i haven’t tried the samson ones so anything i know about them is from reading about them online and hearing from other people.

As for the ksc75 they are a good and safe option to go for, just at 30EU they become a little less worth it seeing as they go for 20$, because of this i woudnt go for them.

They’re in the same place. My audio settings are the same as they always have been. I’m also using a modi/magni setup from god knows how long ago. I think it might be one of these actually, I just plugged some headphones in and turned the volume all the way up and it’s not loud at all. I don’t have an amp in my setup, but it’s still very soft for such cheap 32 ohm headphones.

If you want gaming headphones, don’t get some that are branded as ‘gaming’. As soon as they say they are gamin they bump the price up. I recommend some open backs like the Samson sr850s or AKG k240s if you are on a tight budget, or maybe something like the AKG 371s for closed backs. If you are dead-set on gaming headsets then the Sennheiser pc37x is pretty good.

Sup, I would suggest saving up some more and getting these legends:

Samson SR850s!!:

These are open backs, meaning they have reasonably wide sound-stage, but this means that people near you will hear what you are listening to , and they offer great reference sound under 50 bucks. They are truly amazing for the price!!.

https://www.amazon.in/Samson-SR850-Studio-Headphones-Single/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Samson+SR850&qid=1607433807&sr=8-1

Samson SR950s!!:

These are basically the same thing but closed back, meaning soundstage will be narrow and no one will be able to hear what you are listening to.

https://www.amazon.in/Samson-SR950-Professional-Reference-Headphones/dp/B00CBPJLFW/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Samson+SR850&qid=1607433807&sr=8-3

Im gonna take a wild guess and say you are new to this stuff. Trust me, for the price of under panch hazaar, these will be a great step up from your usual audio gear. Since these are budget audiophile headphones, these can be tuned to your liking very easily.

You can look up reviews too if you like:

If you want a straight up headset then I’d go for the hyperx cloud alphas! They’re really good for the price and super comfortable! But I believe they don’t have surround sound? But if you can live without surround sound, right now I am running a syba sonic dac/amp with the Samson sr850s and a random 3.5mm jack mic I picked up from amazon! The reason I’m running this set up is because the syba sonic dac/amp is powered by usb so the ps4 can register it without any problems! And this dac/amp in particular comes with a headset input and a 3.5mm mic input as well! So it will power a lot of headphones without a problem and you will be able to upgrade your headphones in the future if you want without a problem because this will most likely power it! And a separate dedicated mic is way better than mostly any gaming headset mic. And the reason I went with the Samson sr850s is because these are entry level open back headphones and the soundstage you get with these is way better than you would get with any normal gaming headset! I just replaced the ear pads with the brainwaves xl eat cushions and it’s super comfortable! Open back headphones is definitely the way to go for gaming! And you would be able to upgrade headphones if you would like in the future without a problem with the syba sonic dac/amp in case you want higher quality open back headphones! This is just a set up that I find that works well with the ps4! But I will definitely be upgrading my headphones as well to maybe some audio technicas ath-ad700x or a pair of Sennheiser 598s because Ive heard these are some great cans for gaming! But of course you you’re welcome to explore headphones and find something that you like! But I would definitely recommend open back headphones!

I had a similar situation to you a little while ago. Let me give some advice.

– Definitely get something which is lower Ohm since you don’t have an amp. (I would suggest 32 and lower around 50 might be pushing it).

– Since your environment is not generally noisy I would suggest an open back/semi open back pair. An open set will have a magnificent soundstage thus really helping you in FPS gaming. Also they sound really good (generally). A drawback of them are weak(er) bass.

– Try to get an amp/DAC in the future when you can. IMO it really helps, and that would help with upgradeability for the future (higher ohm headphones can be driven effectively)

Now for a couple recommendations, throughout my research these came up:

Samson SR850 (I bought these): https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS

Really solid pair of headphones. The bass does not lack AT ALL in these headphones. They sound amazing, but they are a bit uncomfortable at first. I used some DIY tricks to lessen the clamping force. Now they are comfortable, and I use them for hours at a time. ANother plus is that they come with velour pads on the amazon listing

Superlux 668b: https://www.amazon.com/Superlux-HD668B-Dynamic-Semi-Open-Headphones/dp/B003JOETX8/ref=pd_cp_267_1?pd_rd_w=szoDQ&pf_rd_p=ef4dc990-a9ca-4945-ae0b-f8d549198ed6&pf_rd_r=72P152TP8C35H3YZV0EX&pd_rd_r=30daeab9-9099-11e9-84d9-4991fb00d6d7&pd_rd_wg=ufooa&pd_rd_i=B003JOETX8&psc=1&refRID=72P152TP8C35H3YZV0EX

These supposedly supersede the sr850’s IDK about that, but maybe. They are also solid from what I have heard, but they have extremely uncomfortable earcups. So uncomfortable to the point where you pretty much have to buy a replacement set. This puts the price up another 10-20 dollars. So I don’t think its worth it taking into account the SR850’s

Superlux 681: A bit hard to find. Google it and you’ll find sellers

These are good. They also have pretty uncomfortable earcups. They are the cheapest out of the bunch, so its not a massive loss if you have to replace them.

Superlux 681 EVO: https://www.amazon.com/Superlux-HD-681-Professional-Monitoring-Headphones/dp/B00CAG1ZG0/ref=asc_df_B00CAG1ZG0/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312193478571&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5082552600706913356&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1018272&hvtargid=pla-442468248857&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=61623488145&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=312193478571&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5082552600706913356&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1018272&hvtargid=pla-442468248857

These are also good. Lots of accessories come with it (including velour pads). IDK much about this one though

Monoprice retros: https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Ultra-Comfortable-Modern-Retro-Headphones/dp/B01M7Z0VKR, or $20 on Monoprice

IDK much about this one. I do know its good though. They are dirt cheap. Monoprice is a good company. THEY ARE NOT OPEN BACKED OR SEMI OPEN BACKED.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

You are not wrong regarding value for money. In audio the Law Of Diminishing Returns bites especially hard.

The ultimate value in headphones is probably something like the Samson SR850 ($36 on Amazon). Its sound is said to be very neutral, with a slight emphasis on higher tones (if anything). Furthermore it is relatively easy to drive, so chances are you won’t need an amp. The downside is that it is built about as good as you can expect for thirty bucks, the sound can quickly become fatiguing and discomfort sets in after a couple of hours.

Generally speaking, more expensive headphones feature better build quality, durability and comfort. Sound quality does improve as the price goes up, but not nearly as much as the physical attributes.

In my opinion the true sweet spot is to be found around €150. Headphones like the open-backed Sennheiser 58X and closed-back Beyerdynamic DT 770 (80 ohm) combine solid sound quality with good enough build quality and excellent comfort. And neither really needs an amp to shine.

The Sennheiser HD 6XX is another next step up.

When it was introduced in 2003 (as the HD 650) it was Sennheiser’s flagship product. Sound quality can be described as natural. It was designed to sound less neutral (analytical) and more pleasing than that of the preceding HD 600. Build quality is excellent and you can wear it all day without discomfort (once broken in). It can be powered by pretty much anything, but a good amp improves the sound.

In summary, 6XX offers great value as an audiophile benchmark, but there is no way that it is five times better than the Samson. Should you buy a pair yourself?

 • If you won’t miss the extra $165 it costs over the Samson – YES
 • If you enjoy owning quality gear that lasts a long time – YES
 • If you are treble sensitive or simply prefer a “warmer” sound – YES
 • I you want to hear new details in familiar tracks – NO
 • For studio work – NO

Additionally there is something to be said for owning a “reference” headphone like the 6XX. Most enthusiasts either own (or owned) a pair themselves, and it seems that *everybody* knows the sound. This means that the it is often mentioned in reviews of other products, giving you a solid point of reference.

PS – The 6XX is not to everyone’s taste. If you find it too laid back or boring, check out the Beyerdynamic DT990 or the AKG K702.

Id say this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yCGHBZ

When trying to push 240 hz you need to have a better cpu, extra cores are kinda wasteful the 3600 is up to 25% faster on single thread performance so it should be much better at hitting those framerates.

I upgraded the motherboard to a b450 gaming plus max which is compatible out of the box with ryzen 3000(ignore compatibility warning then) and delivers power a hell of a lot better than that asrock.

For 10 dollars more i got low latency high speed ram which helps a ton the cpu so higher frames yey.

For 3 dollars more you can get twice the storage, dont worry about the brand as its a good quality drive, samsung stuff is just overpriced to hell and back.

Cheaper gpu since you dont need a 2070 super, also freesync yey.

Cheaper smaller case with strong airflow and includes fans.

Much better power supply which allows upgradability in the future.

Ditched headset since they suck, get one of these https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS and use software like hesuvi for 7.1 virtualization.

Without a good setup it will be wasted, manufacturers leave the good sound features for high end motherboards most of the time and heck i found a massive improvement just by getting audiophile headphones(just 34 bucks) https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS

On even a cheap board like this one:

This is the monitor https://pcpartpicker.com/product/vW38TW/acer-monitor-r240hybidx

Although for gaming this is better https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4Hc48d/dell-s2419hgf-240-1920×1080-144-hz-monitor-s2419hgf

Any store with a “tech” at the end i guess, mostly go for mice based on feel on your hand. If you need a headset get this one https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS
Audiophile quality on a budget, you can virtualize surround on any stereo headphones, dont get any of that “7.1” headphones stuff

Since its in about 3 months consider all these parts a placeholder, price right now is 1016 bucks but it will have to be rebuilt when you are about to buy the parts https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kWcj4n

Windows 10 is free to install and use, install from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and put onto a 8 gb or more usb and plug it in once the pc is built

If you happen to need some budget audiophile headphones https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS

There are some very affordable, pretty decent headphones that are reasonably flat and neutral, with decent frequency response, that are suited to production. A popular pick is this $34 Samson pair: https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=open+back+headphones&qid=1568599255&s=gateway&sr=8-9

Seems worth it to me if all you have is earbuds or colored media speakers. Less than the cost of most popular soft synths…

I’ve got it narrowed down to three options. My budget is <100, I was considering the Samson SR850 or SR950 or the Beyerdynamic Custom Street headphones. My question is what benefits do the SR950 offer over the SR850? The 850s are only 30~ dollars and I need to know how much difference there would be in sound quality.

SR850 https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1516410109&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=samson+sr850&psc=1

SR950 https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR950-Professional-Reference-Headphones/dp/B00CBPJLFW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1516410345&sr=8-2&keywords=samson+sr950

Beyerdynamic https://www.amazon.com/beyerdynamic-Custom-Street-Headphones-Black/dp/B00UK7ZTUY?th=1

What is the meaningful difference between these?

Samsun SR850s and Excelvan BM-800 make sure you have the right XLR cables for the mic and you can get a phantom power supply for an easy mic upgrade.

I’ve been really happy with my Samson SR850‘s, especially for an under-$40 pair. If you’re really concerned about audio “leaking,” you might want to go with the 950‘s instead (they’re closed-back instead of the semi-open 850’s).

Budget – $50

Source – sound card

Requirements for Isolation – would prefer they block out background noise, I want immersion!

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? Hell no.

Preferred Type of Headphone – full sized

Preferred tonal balance – prefer balanced with bass leaning

Past headphones – Used Steelseries v2 and an earforce px22. Loved the steelseries v2. They were comfortable as shit and sounded great. Hated the px22. sound was bleh and the mic only worked with the amp which created a hiss.

Intended use – Gaming, movies, EDM, and classic rock

What would you like to improve on from your set-up: better sound and comfort. A detachable cable would be nice as my v2 needed replacement since the left ear went out. The px22 headband actually cracked on me which is why im looking for new ones.

Currently I’m looking at these

Samson SR850

Superlux HD-681

Superlux HD668B

Panasonic RP-HTF600-S

which do you recommend or what option did I miss?

Unfortunately the SHP9500s are £110 here, so not the best value.

In terms of open, how good are these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samson-SR850-Professional-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/

https://www.amazon.co.uk/P-Howard-HD681-Superlux-Headphones/dp/B002GHIPYI/

I’ve seen graphs that make the 681s look really neutral but loads of people seem to be saying that they have a very strong V shaped curve, which is confusing to me.
SR850s seem to be an update of those, not sure which would be more neutral.

I have found HM5 rebadges for cheaper though – £45 delivered from https://www.studiospares.com/Headphones-and-Speakers/Headphones-Studio/Studiospares-M1000-Studio-Headphones_448760.htm

Are HM5 (M1000 here) a lot better than SR850 / HD668B / HD681 ?

Interestingly, they seem to do an open version called M2000, which i’ve read are less neutral and don’t really sound “open”.

Indeed HM5 seem to be a rebrand themselves of these:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/495561/review-fischer-audio-fa-002-and-fa-003-two-to-tango

So, need to decide between those cheap open ones I mentioned or the rebadged HM5 for a tiny bit more. Whichever is better quality really.

Or would Sennheiser HD558 for £60 be better value?

Or can you think of any other open possibilities?

Thanks!

First link guide is as much as you need but personally I like cheap dirt like dat monoprice or $150-200 mid range stuff. But I like http://www.amazon.ca/Samson-SR850-Professional-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=pd_sbs_267_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=41MAEcppkgL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=04BQC8SE1DDNCWXB1DCY

Location – UK

Budget – £45 (cheaper the better however, I need to buy 2 pairs)

Source – PC, Sennheiser Soundcard that come with the 323D’s (or on board motherboard if better).

Requirements for Isolation – None needed

Preferred Type of Headphone – Over ear, ideally cover well to avoid pain. Can’t use IEM as I’ve small ears that seem to never accept them without falling out every minute.
Edit: Preferred open ear as they usually have a less tight grip on the head, but if it means better quality, happy to use closed eared.

Preferred tonal balance – Using for gaming mainly, so a little bass would be nice. Main game to be played will be Star Citizen which involves a lot of space, ships, and lasers.

Past headphones – Sennheiser 323D’s: good quality, although if used for listening to voice (YouTube, Teamspeak etc) it sounds very ‘tinny’, the bass is nice though; just enough. Sadly starting to die so need to upgrade!
I plan on buying a separate mic to use so headphones don’t need a microphone at all (since I mentioned gaming I thought I would say)

Preferred Music – Music I listen to varies from 50’s (Del Shannon) to Rise Against, Alestorm, Black Sabbath, and sometimes what ever this is classed as (Soft Rock?). I tend to avoid dance music which requires a lot of bass usually and stick to more trance music.

What would you like to improve on from your set-up – Quality, something that will compliment gaming and music together. I know it’s a big ask, sorry!

Do I have anything in mind? – I’ve currently been looking at the Samson SASR850C & Sennheiser 202D.

Thanks in advance!

I’m looking to upgrade my headphones. I use headphones when I’m in the office, to listen to music while coding. I work off a Macbook Pro (late 2013) and would prefer to not have to get an amp or anything for my setup.

I currently have the Samson SR850, which have been great. But, I’m looking for something a little better.

I’ve been looking at the HD 598 for some time now. If these go on sale for Prime Day, I think I’m definitely going to jump on them. Thoughts? Anything that might be better?

My only concern is that they’re open (which hasn’t been a problem with the SR850 so far) which isn’t the best for an office setting.

 • Budget – up to $150
 • Source – Macbook Pro
 • Requirements for Isolation – In the office, so need to be respectful.
 • Preferred Type of Headphone – Full-sized
 • Preferred tonal balance – Balanced is best. I listen to a large range of audio.
 • Past headphones – Samson SR850
 • Preferred Music – Rap, Jazz, Classical, Indie, JPOP…
 • What would you like to improve on from your set-up: Just get a higher quality sound 🙂

You could always get samson, they’re solid headphones. You can even power them with a phone (no need for a dac)

https://www.amazon.in/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_7XZDQHZ15WX2S83X5637

I had originally got them for around 5-6k originally, but now the prices have come down quite a bit.

Budget: 75$ or less

Looking For: Open-back headphones for my grandmother to watch TV

Currently own: Some cheap Wal Mart garbage

Really she’s only listening to TV, and she lives alone. I think that open-back would make more sense so that if someone buzzes her to open the door, the telephone rings, she’ll hear it better. Plus, I feel like the talking will have a more natural feel to it.

What the best headphones that are open-back that she could get for under 100$? Comfort is really the most important factor here, she’s 93 (fragile ears) and wears them for long periods. Over ear would probably be the better option as well.

Is something like the Samson SR850 a good option? How about the Sony MDRMA300? Any other suggestions?

Logitech G35 is basically 2.0 with fake sound effects to replicate a “distant” sound noise that sound “like” 7.1. When I used it I spent about 3 hours configuring the 7.1 because the bass leaked over wrong channels and made awful incorrect sounds. I ended with using 2.0 and no drivers because it destroyed the audio and some games it didn’t play the audio through right earphone, this happens to my friend too.

Samson 850 theese sound incredible and the surround sound feel is dramatically better with these than the expensive Logitech G35.

Sorry for comment novel 🙂
