Thanks! Great info. I agree that it is a steal. I have a USB switch that is perfect for me right now, I put it under my mouse pad and 3D printed a housing for it. All I have to do is move my mouse up by it and press down with my palm or my pinky. However, if there is a monitor with a switch that I could put in the same orientation that can switch the USB and video, that would be great. If it’s worth it, I can still switch the monitor input without a KVM, as long as it doesn’t take too many menus, right now it’s like 4 button presses on my monitor. Not a huge issue, but prefer an instant switch. I have a small portable monitor that my PC is also hooked up to, so I often switch USB about 10x as much as my main monitor input, so I can deal with it. Out of curiosity, I’d still like to see your KVM recommendation. This is the USB switch I’ve been using out of the 10 I tried and returned. You can take the switch out of the case and solder on extra length to it, and just use the small little clicky switch without the housing Sabrent USB 2.0 Sharing Switch up to 4 Computers and Peripherals LED Device Indicators (USB-USS4) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RC8F2L3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_HSQRWMJXDWS2FW0FEGQ2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

This is the one i’ve got. . I’ve mounted the little remote it has to the back of my monitor stand so I can’t see it, works really well with all three computers. Powering a mechanical RGB keyboard and a Corsair RGB mouse too with no additional power needed.

Do you have both the dock and desktop connected to the monitor separately? If so, you should only need a basic USB A switch, those are much cheaper than ones which also handle switching video and power over USB C. You would connect the switch to the dock and desktop, and use a hardware button to change your mouse, keyboard, etc between them. There seems to be a decent selection of USB A switches, for example: https://amazon.com/dp/B07RC8F2L3

I mean, I haven’t used this, but just in case you were having trouble finding one at all:
https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Computers-Peripherals-Indicators-USB-USS4/dp/B07RC8F2L3/ref=sr_1_10?keywords=usb+switch&qid=1639873105&sr=8-10
Also, you may want to play around with https://github.com/haimgel/display-switch as an add-on to the USB switch, if you are sharing one display that is already cabled to multiple computers.
It’s kind of fiddly to set up (protip: find the logfiles; they will help you figure out what the right strings are), but it’s pretty nice to have the monitor auto-switch input when you change the usb switch.

It’s not really what you need, but I’ve been using the combo of these two products to use the same devices when I switch from my work mbp to my gaming pc. Webcam, stream deck, keyboard dongle, mouse dongle, headphones dongle, card reader and usb drive.

I use my Astro A50 Gen 4 with my private PC, work PC and PS5. i bought this USB Switch (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07RC8F2L3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) so i wont need to plug the USB all the time. Unfortunatly the PS5 doesnt recognize the Asto and the lights on the Base stay off. (Yes in PS Mode and it works perfect without the switch)
Both PC can connect via this method.
Someone can help me or has a similar setup and can point me to a 3 way switch that works?

Whoa that’s a very expensive $400 KVM. I think you would be better off connecting your Gaming PC to a monitor with DP and the laptop with HDMI and using the monitors display source button to switch between inputs. They you can use a cheap $22 USB switch like this: https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Computers-Peripherals-Indicators-USB-USS4/dp/B07RC8F2L3 to switch your keyboard & mouse between computers.
That would let you save $400 and potentially upgrade to a RTX 3060 with the savings!

Yeah I didn’t know they existed either until I complained about moving all my usbs to my friend and they recommended that I got one haha. I got this one from amazon! The 4-port version: https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Computers-Peripherals-Indicators-USB-USS4/dp/B07RC8F2L3
luckily, my monitors has multiple display inputs so that I can plug in my work laptop in one and my pc in the other otherwise I would have gotten a kvm switch with display ports which are way more expensive ><
