I wanted to get into this “cheaply” while still sticking with ‘cherry’ branded switches (since I read they are one of the best key switch brands).
I did this one for $50. It was the lowest cost cherry brown switch mech keyboard I could find. I think you can get the more popular cherry reds for around $35. I wanted to get the slightly tactile feel without too much sound, so went with browns. I guess whites are very clicky (most people like) but are VERY loud – too disruptive for work
It’s a bit ugly so I get embarrassed if someone looks at it and lighted keyboards at work are a bit odd. But the feel of using it…..I can’t go back.

Looking for an affordable first mechanical. Was interested in the CM Storm Quckfire XT but it seems like it’s not available anymore. When I search for it Amazon points me at this rosewill alternative. Is this a fair replacement in terms of quality? Or should I look elsewhere? Maybe the CM Masterkeys line instead?

Seems like a good price for a keyboard with legit Cherry MX Brown switches.
