Finally bit the bullet this Christmas and bought myself an electric razor. Some of the best money I’ve ever spent.

I’ve tried cartridges, double edge, straight razors, and I just don’t care about the ritual. I just want my facial hair gone with very little effort.

It gets it pretty close but not as close as a real razor. But the trade off is you can shave daily with no irritation. It shaving less closely is probably the precise reason it doesn’t cause irritation. I prefer the one with the straight blade like this rather than the rotating ones. https://www.amazon.com/Remington-F5-5800-Shaver-Electric-Razor/dp/B00BB5YHEI/ref=sr_1_5?crid=26WIFKKPVGQV4&keywords=remington+electric+razor+for+men&qid=1645284659&sprefix=remingt%2Caps%2C110&sr=8-5

This one seems pretty popular. Hope you find something that is helpful!

Hey there, just popping (heh) in to say I have HS as well and it’s a bitch.

If you ever feel like you want to shave, I have found that this shaver is where it’s at: https://www.amazon.com/Remington-F5-5800-Shaver-Electric-Razor/dp/B00BB5YHEI

It’s the only one I have successfully used on my nethers without grabbing a lip accidentally (ouch) and because it’s electric it doesn’t (usually) shave below the skin and I don’t get a flare.

Also has a handy little pop out trimmer for keeping things tidy. 🙂

I was thinking something more like this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BB5YHEI/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B00BB5YHEI&pd_rd_w=2YGn0&pf_rd_p=7d37a48b-2b1a-4373-8c1a-bdcc5da66be9&pd_rd_wg=3bswt&pf_rd_r=QBANFTBRN51N8FJFBPZG&pd_rd_r=e0661d07-25bd-4680-9ec9-58f7f…

A foil shaver. The only problem is that it really won’t shave your balls very well but then again neither will that Philips razor.

Honestly, get yourself a Gillette Fusion 3 blade razor. That’s really the best for shaving anywhere.

> And shaving with a razor-razor in the shower or tub down there is more effective than trying to use an electric one down there

Is it? I’ve got this one and it seems vastly better than a razor in every way: http://www.amazon.com/Remington-F5-5800-Rechargeable-Interceptor-Technology/dp/B00BB5YHEI

I’ve been shaving with an electric razor for 15 years. I bought this one a few months ago, and it has literally been the best electric razor I’ve ever used.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BB5YHEI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00

The catch is, I purchased it for $25 from amazon, and I now see it’s $39.99. I would look around and see if you can’t find it for the $25 price tag elsewhere?

Hey there. I had a similar situation come up with my dad. After a heart attack in 2010 he’s on blood thinners for the foreseeable future. He’s gone through several electrics and settled on the Remington F5- 5800. He likes the foil over rotary shavers. He had a Wahl 5 Star before this one, but the Remington can be rinsed, which makes cleaning super easy. It can also be used plugged in, so when the batteries finally die it’s not a disposable item

I use a men’s electric razor. I get horrible razor burn whenever I use a traditional razor, so a few years back started experimenting.

It has to be one with straight foils though, the ones with three round foils will tear your shit up.

I use this one, and it’s been great.

On a side note, women’s electrics suck and the replacement foils cost twice as much.

Heh you’re like the third or fourth girl to ask, funnily enough.

I use a double foil straight men’s razor. After experimentation, I learned the hard way that the ones with three round foils will tear your shit up.

Also worth noting – the women’s electric razors are shit, and the replacement foils cost double.

This is the one I use atm.

I use an electric razor on my face every day and my chest 2-3 times a week. I get significantly less (basically none) razor burn then using a safety razor and just about as close of a shave. I then use a primer to hide the beard shadow

Great gift ideas, I hope they like it!

I started shaving when I was a teen with disposable razors with shaving cream, then was gifted by my parents like you’re doing an electric Norelco rotary razor that I used for years dry without shaving cream and regularly replaced the blades/heads, then years later upgraded to the newer version of the same electric rotary (still dry without cream) and used it for a few more years. I also bought a few years ago a double sided safety razor and used that with cream with great success when I wanted a better/cleaner shave than the electric rotary razors could give me. Electric razors do 80% of the job in 20% of the time. It won’t be baby-skin smooth, but it’ll look good.

I say all this to explain that I’ve used every kind of razor known to man. I’ve also had straight razor shaves from barbers, but have not tried it myself. With all of this background, a year or so ago I bought a foil electric razor and IT’S AWESOME! My grandfather used a foil electric razor but the rotary ones always looked cooler so when I was young I went rotary and didn’t look back until recently, and I wish I had. The foil style electric razors do a much better job of shaving than the rotary electric razors. I bought the cheapest one I could find on Amazon because I wasn’t sure I’d like the style and didn’t want to waste money, but it gives a great, comfortable shave and I’ve been using it every day for about a year and just replaced the head.

It’s the Remington F5-5800 (https://www.amazon.com/Remington-F5-5800-Shaver-Electric-Razor/dp/B00BB5YHEI/), it’s nothing fancy but I recommend it. I bought it last year for $36. It’s now $39. Well within your budget to buy two, one for each, but if you want the heads are swappable if you buy another replacement head, but at this price I’d recommend just buying two since it’s pretty much exactly your preferred budget, seems like it’s meant to be.

Because this is a gift, I suspect you don’t want the cheapest/first option on Amazon for “foil razor”, but I’m a picky person who has used multiple different methods and products and I trust that they’ll both be happy with this. The middle cutting piece between the two foil strips does a great job of knocking down the very long hairs that can get caught/pulled in other style razors that don’t have that feature. This razor can be rinsed after using to remove hairs from the foils, but is not waterproof and cannot be used in the shower, which is OK because in my experience shaving in the shower without cream is difficult and you can’t see what you’re doing anyway without a fog proof mirror. I do not think this razor should be used with cream.

EDIT – also, the replacement blade heads are only $13. I swapped mine out at 6 months, but it sounds like your two men will last a lot longer.
