If you have the money for it get the AT2035. It’s slightly better for voice than the AT2020 and has some extra features and a shock mount. Ultimately, either one will be good.

This is how you use an XLR interface:

Mic -> XLR Cable -> Interface -> USB Cable -> Computer

For teh same price I would compare it to the Presonus AudioBox and the Mackie ProFX8 (which is what I use). You get some nice customization and expandability with the Mackie and the Presonus has some awesome features as well.

If you have any other question and/or want to know what the different knobs, sliders, and buttons do let me know! I’ll be more than happy to help you set it up and explain what all of the features do.

I know you want inexpensive, but I’ve recommended these to several drummers and they LOVE them. Outstanding little board with great quality… You can use it to manage your click to both your own ears and to monitor world for the band as you expand. It has plenty of room to expand. A small board is one of the best investments outside of actual instrumentation a drummer can make, IMO.

This board also has 2-track digital in and out from a computer so you can greatly improve your audio quality and patching setup.

It’s obviously considerably more than your linked solution, but consider either springing for a small board or saving for one. You’ll be very happy with something like this.

Here is a slightly different approach, not as flexible on the I/O side but a great tool as well.

Rolls makes a couple decent little 2- and 4-channel mixers, but honestly they are quite lacking in flexibility of how you can expand.

Hope it works out for you!
