If that’s what you’re planning on doing I’d recommend getting a cheap external SSD and adopting that, something like this.

If you took a sd card or a flash drive you’re subjecting that to a lot of data being written and these things just won’t last or perform as well as your internal memory. IDK what your budget is but I’d grab a cheap ssd for $40-$60 and go with that. If you were just reading files off of it that’s one thing but I’d save myself the headache and grab a cheap ssd. If price is an issue I’d recommend grabbing a 3.0 flash drive with good heat dissipation.
