When I was a kid we used to chew tablets that would stain our teeth if we didn’t brush them properly. So you’d have basically a blue or purple mouth and then you’d brush until you didn’t have any color left. It really helped encourage us too brush proper.

Turns out they are still around!

You’ve never seen them? They’re purple tablets that show where you missed brushing the plaque from your teeth. Example:

Your gums are inflamed. There might be hidden plaque that when you brushed it away, left the gum exposed. Don’t worry, this happens to the best of us. Your gum needs to heal over where the plaque was. This guy explains it: https://youtube.com/shorts/v9Rp-b5O4ng?feature=share

And how to floss. Make sure you go underneath gum to root of tooth: https://youtube.com/shorts/q3odRDBaGa0e ?feature=share

All of these are to avoid calculus, to stop all your teeth from becoming one big unsexy Toof. https://youtube.com/shorts/V1Kw12FDVBU?feature=share

Rn brushing feels weird because of how sensitive your mouth is. Its okay to go softer in little circles and massage your teeth with the brush. I’m not sure if its still on the market but there’s a pink/purple liquid or chewable that will stick to all the plaque in your mouth so you know if you got everything. Its really fun to use and helpful in teaching how to brush properly.

Getting into a schedule of brushing will help with hygiene and organization. I like to do it when i first wake up before a meal, when I take a shower at night and maybe mouthwash if I’m going out. The goal is to do it 1-3 times every day. If you can only manage once a day for most days, than thats still a great improvement. 😀
