Back when it was still supported. It would give you more immersion IE explosion on screen the lights would turn red/yellow/orange to make your wall look like part of the explosion. Now it’s just looking cool and reducing eye strain like others have said.
Lame I know and this is for PC but they made one that was just lights. No reason you can run it for your tv via your pc or back in the day they had tvs that had it built in.
