Really good budget closed-backs are a difficult proposition right now because many of my typical recommendations have been discontinued in the past year or two. Under $100, the Sivga SV006 was a great option. Under $200 were headphones like the B&O H6gen.2 and BeyerDynamic Custom Studio. You can look around if you like, there may be some new/old stock that pops up at one retailer or another.
The Takstar Pro82 is still a good option. And honestly the Cloud Alpha still checks all the boxes.
For a relatively quiet semi-open, I’ve known a gaming couple that sat side-by-side and both used and enjoyed the Fidelio L2. $85 is the lowest price I’ve seen for them since they were introduced, and at that price they’d be a super solid choice.
You’re asking for headphones, but you are looking to replace a headset (mic). Do you need a mic?

It’s not my intention to confuse things by piling on more options, but if you’re shopping in the US you should really consider the Fidelio L2 in the same price range. They’re a noticeable step up in sound quality over the 9500.

Amazon.to links contain referrals embedded that earn the originator revenue on purchases. We don’t permit these else would be overrun by everyone spamming their own links to make a quick buck.
Regular clean Amazon.com, .co.uk, .com.au, .de etc links are perfectly fine to be posted.
For example: https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Over-Ear-Open-Air-Headphone-Drivers/dp/B08D2L4V7X
Bit.ly links are completely banned due to the amount of fraud and phishing scams they are used in. Not good practise to use them.

Probably not.
One of the main complaints for the 9500 is that they have very light clamping force. That makes them very comfortable for some people, but people who have smaller heads will find that the 9500 fits too loosely an can unintentionally slide back and forth which is an annoyance.
As an alternative, if you’re shopping in the U.S., the Fidelio L2 is also available for a very good price. These will fit smaller heads better, are actually an upgrade in sound quality over the 9500, and can still make use of a BoomPro if you desire.
