I want to gift my husband with a skin care package for xmas this year. It took me years to convince him to wash his face in the shower (he uses just dove soap) and recently he started wearing sun screen in the mornings. He’s a bit of a “soap is soap I don’t get why I need different soap for my face.” kind of person. We’ve had some talks about ph balances and how that effects the skin. He’s a scientist and I find appealing to that nature of his has been more convincing of him using products. He’s starting to get it and I think he’s finally ready to take a leap into trying a routine.

He has oily skin, with some enlarged pores on his cheeks and tends to get hard red bumps in front of his ears. For reference, he spends most of his day wearing a full face ventilator, hates greasy feeling lotions, and loathes the smell of most sunscreens.

I’ve read that you don’t want to overdo it with the anti-oil products cause it’ll lead to dryness instead. I’d like to know if what I got is a good start or if I should replace some products with something else.

So far I’ve picked out

I was also looking at The Ordinary ninacinamide and zinc but wasn’t sure where that would fit in or replace with what I have.

Thank you!
