Hey! Just wanted to let you know that Automod has removed your comment because it contains an Amazon referral link, which we don’t allow in the sub.

It’s a bit confusing, because the text shows a regular Amazon link, but the actual link contains a referral. I’m assuming reddit just mangled the format, but could you please edit the URL so that everything from (and including) “tag=” is removed? That way, the product page will still be visible – but no one can make a profit from the link.

Here’s the referral free link for an easy copy & paste: https://www.amazon.com/Paulas-Choice-Niacinamide-Enlarged-Wrinkles-Normal/dp/B01GF1EOB8/

If you’ve done that, please reply to this message so I can approve your comment 😀

exfoliating more doesnt really do much to shrink pores and help with scarring and might be making it worse. youre going to want a product with a good amount of niacinamide and n-acetylglucosamine. Licorice root extract too. All of these increase cell turnover a little which reduces scarring, and help with pores and redness.

This paulas choice one has exactly what i think will help with your skin. Its really good for shrinking pores and reducing redness and scarring. Like you have no idea they will melt off.

If its too pricey, check ebay or other listings. Other options with very similar ingrediants list are Stratia’s Rewind and HolySnail’s Shark Sauce. They are small businesses so you cant get them off amazon though.

Skin Type: combination, dull, redness, scars | Country/Climate I’m in: VA, USA | Top Skin Concern: scars + dull

Current Routine/Products I’m Using:

  1. Cerave hydrating cleanser

  2. Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream

  3. Innis Free Perfect UV Protection Cream

  1. DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

  2. Cerave Hydrating Cleanser

  3. Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream

  4. dab some of my curology formula over scars/old flare up spots: Azelaic Acid (4%) Clindamycin (1%) Niacinamide (4%)

I specifically am looking for a product to remove shallow acne scars and brighten my face. I am curious about trying Paula’s Choice Niacinamide Booster or OST C20 Vitamin C Serum.

I have a few questions:

a) which [niacinamide or vitc] should I try first? or which is more effective for my goals?

b) re: vitC, I read that you should start at a lower concentration and work up. Does that mean I should dilute this one, use less, or search for a product at a lower concentration?

c) I’m just curious if there is a particular AHA/BHA thread someone would recommend for extra reading? I’ve read some from searching but am confused as to what these are and I figure stepping forward past my “basic beginners routine” I should figure it out.
