I’ve had this one for about 18 months. That seems like the average lifespan whether I use it in the shower or not.

Panasonic Cordless Men’s Beard Trimmer With Precision Dial, Adjustable 19 Length Setting, Rechargeable Battery, Washable – ER-GB40-S (Blue) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008KEJ1LM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_ERRAQ5KQJH0ZFDFTR7S6
I recommend this trimmer I’ve had it for like 3 years so far and have only replaced the blades once keep in mind you have to put oil on blades so it runs smoother every so often. The battery life is good sometimes I forget to charge and still has enough juice to trim
me for another sesh or 2. The guard helps with trimming your bush and tree too. Easy to take part and clean too. It’s gone up in price since I bought it but I’d definitely get another one of these if it ever broke on me

Do NOT get the one blade. I loved it the first few times I used it, but the blades wear quickly and start to pull hair. It’s so frustrating. I replaced my Panasonic rechargeable one that was 5 years old with the one blade and I regret my decision every time I use it. I looked it up on amazon and the price for my old trimmer has dropped by roughly 50% since I originally bought it, and I just bought a new one, so thanks for that. 👍🏻

I’m using the panasonic wet/dry trimmer, and while I don’t use it often, let me tell you that I neglect it 24/7/365 (I just leave it in the shower) and it still seems to be happy to do it’s job, hold a charge, etc. It doesn’t look BIFL, and I have an Oster Model 10 to do actual haircuts, but so far, so good.

Panasonic ER-GB40-S
19 Precision Hair and Beard Trimmer for Wet/Dry Wash https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008KEJ1LM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_pAO5ybZZZFFMX
I use one of these and it works perfect for everywhere. I have had it for 4 years now and still works perfect.

I use a combination Wahl for semi-weekly jobs and this Panasonic Wet/Dry Trimmer for daily maintenance. That Panasonic unit deserves all the stars it has Amazon. The adjuster doesn’t work as smooth as the first day I got it, but it still performs admirably after 2 years of use.

You should consider picking up this trimmer.
It’ll give you a very close trim safely in case you need to groom without cutting yourself. I also love this trimmer specifically, I bought it because it won some kind of award in a magazine I saw, and I haven’t been disappointed.

I’m not trying to be a dick, but I’d much rather look like a 14 year old than have my face all broken out like that. That neckbeard is horrendous. If you want a good beard trimmer, this is the best one I’ve found. All the same, you really need to consider shaving that neck beard, and I would say the rest of your face. Otherwise, just grow it out entirely and shave your neck.

It is this one! Panasonic ER-GB40-S Cordless Moustache & Beard Trimmer
Just be sure to start off longer and go down gradually so you don’t trim too short! I did that once when I first started. But seriously nothing else has worked better for me. Sometimes I do the front 1/3 or so a little shorter than the tail end but I probably wouldn’t start that until you get the hang of it!

I think you’re way too worried about this. I would suggest two things: (1) Shave the sides. If you don’t shave for a long time and let those random hairs on the side grow long, that looks really sloppy and bad. With the amount of hair you have on the sides, it will take you 2 minutes every other day. You can’t be that lazy. (2) Trim your goatee. It looks unkempt. I really like this trimmer This would take you another couple minutes once every week.

This one is really good. Very adjustable, good battery. I really like it and highly reccomend it.

Oster Model 76 or Model 10 for clippers. For a trimmer, I’m using a panasonic wet/dry and they work pretty well.

Good point. I have some skin problems so the longest I like to keep mine is the 5mm length. I think the last time I went through Amazon/google, I couldn’t find something that fit the standards of being waterproof and chargeable by usb-c (just in the interest of onebagging I feel like if all your devices are usb-c that will let you have literally 1 cable). However, now it does look like there are some options of stuff that are at least usb-chargeable, waterproof, and also have different guard lengths. Even if not usb-c, usb in general would cut down on bulk. I might try one of these for an upcoming trip instead of the oneblade. They don’t look to be too great of quality, though.
I guess that usb-ness wasn’t really one of your concerns, but I figured it may as well be. However, all those Amazon ones look super cheap. At home, the times I do grow out more beard, I love this Panasonic trimmer. It also happens to be kinda cheap in price but I’ve found it to be of very high quality, and hasn’t failed me in like 2 years. The adjustable lengths are great it goes all the way to like 11mm or something. I guess it’s nice for travel if you need different length guards since they are all built-in instead of having to bring actual different length guards. It seems there is a different more expensive option that might be nicer and also a newer version of mine. I love all black so I actually might have to cop it. The charger is more sleek now too, but still not usb. I think if you get something like that it would be satisfactory. The battery on mine lasts so long it’s actually never died I kinda just randomly charge it sometimes. In this category of non-usb but still waterproof I bet there’s a ton more options, hopefully someone else has some recommendations cause the Panasonic one is all I’ve used.
