Question about weight scales what type measures more accurately, a normal weight scale or a digital weight scale? Also I was planning on picking up this scale soon and was wondering if anyone he has had one https://www.amazon.ca/Ozeri-Touch-Total-Scale-Black/dp/B003N4AVKE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1468174588&sr=8-2&keywords=weight+scale

https://www.amazon.ca/Ozeri-Touch-Total-Scale-Black/dp/B003N4AVKE I have had this one forEVER! Okay like 5 years but I love, love it. Great on unstable ground too. Also has fun features like muscle, water, fat and bone – how accurate those are are debatable but I like seeing my fat % go down! Plus it has a tare function for weighing luggage (I travel a lot) so no more OHPing a suitcase to see the scale. Also kids or pets in your arms. I’m kind of in love with it.

I just bought an Ozeri Touch. I’ve only had it 2 days, but it’s giving me the same weight at the nice medical scale we’ve got at school. It’s the body fat %, but I have no idea how accurate that is.

I do a ratio adjustment to what my scale says. When I first went on r/guessmybf people said my bf% was ~16.5%, while my scale said 10.5%. So from then I multiplied my scale’s bf% by 16.5/10.5. So in my above comment, my scale actually read 8.4%, but after I do my ratio adjument it would be 13.2%. It has worked well for me and stays a lot closer than what most people do which is subtract to offset. I feel you could probably use this method with any scale, but the scale that I purchased in 2013 (and still works!) is the Ozeri Touch 440lb Digital Bath Scale.

I love that is hasn’t broken, yet. This year, I also bought the Ozeri ZK14-S Pronto Digital Multifunction Kitchen and Food Scale for weighing my food for MyFitnessPal. Works great, as well.

I also verify my progress once in a while with www.bodywhat.com. It is a website that uses neural networks to estimate your bf% based on a picture of yourself. I have found it to be somewhat accurate within like 1-2% of my ratio adjustment method.

Thanks for the reply!

I currently use this digital bathroom scale and also a digital kitchen scale from the same company. Both have very good reviews on amazon, so I always assume my data is pretty accurate when entering it on MFP.

As for pre-prepared foods, I think this low carb pita bread is the only one I eat 1-3 times a week, and I even sometimes cut it in half making it 2 net carbs instead of 4 (I use it to make tiny pizzas) along with 1tbsp low carb pasta sauce which I guess is also considered pre-prepared food.

I already eat lots of eggs, meat, cheese, salmon, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower and lettuce. Sometimes half a medium-sized tomato in salad with creamy cucumber dressing. I can’t stand avocados (or rather, have no clue how to make it taste good by my standards) so I stay away from it. I suppose I could start using oil more though.
