This thing is freaking awesome. You tilt it and a grate lets through the unclumped litter and the clumped litter falls in a scoop. Takes 10 seconds.

If the issue is not wanting to sit and scoop you might want to try one of these out:

They work pretty well, you just roll the box over onto the top and the dried matter gets collected in the scoop on the side. I had one for a few years however as my cats have gotten older they’ve had more issues with enclosed boxes. While I did have one it worked great and was way cheaper than an automatic box.

We weren’t able to financially commit to an automatic litter box (yet-we still want to!), so we got this one. You roll the box and the clumps fall into a drawer that you can slide right out and we dump right in our litter genie. It’s been good for our one cat house!

Maybe check into different foods? There may be some that are easier to digest. You can also try a covered litter box, and adding baking soda to catch odors.
Also, consider changing every day.
Here’s a covered cat litter box which sifts itself when you move it so that the poo goes into the waste tray four you to remove. So you can remove the waste daily and keep smells more confined to inside the covered box. $40, just an example, I’m not affiliated

Best litter box in the world. Link

Do not buy these. Buy a cat genie instead. They’re roughly the same price, except one actually processes and flushes cat waste and never requires new litter.
The litter box in the video is just an automated scooper. It doesn’t dispose of the waste, it still requires fairly regular cleaning, and you still need to buy new litter every few weeks. Boxes like this run $300-$600, but they’re all an automated version of this self-scooping litter box for $23
Meanwhile the cat genie costs less, lasts longer and disposes of any/all cat waste immediately after the cat uses it. It’s the closest thing to a “Cat toilet” that you can find and is basically 0 maintenance once setup.
