You might wanna check out the Nixeus keyboards. Here’s the tenkeyless version. There’s also a full size called the Moda Pro.

Here’s the official specs and an Amazon link for anyone else that checks this out.

The price seems really reasonable compared to everything else like the Poker 3 that everyone in the sub goes on about. You said the keycaps are cheap? They make a point out that they are laser engraved, but don’t say what the material is…

I am currently looking for a tenkeyless mechanical keyboard with brown switches. I will connect it to my MacBook and use it for some light gaming and typing for classes/work. I would highly prefer some media controls that will be compatible with a Mac.

My budget is around $80. I have an Amazon gift card and would prefer purchasing from there.

What are my options? I have my eyes on Nixeus Moda v2 or Logitech G610 (not TKL though) but I am still confused and researching other options.

Edit: The other option in the wiki was the Magicforce but I am not a fan of it. Although I can’t specifically point a finger at why.

I would generally say that it’s not worth it at all, personally. You can get a variety of more interesting, or better built keyboards for around this price or cheaper. Keyboards with Kailh imitation switches are nearly indistinguishable from authentic cherry’s at this point.

I would spend some time on this channel if you’re really interested in spending $100 on a keyboard, but if you just want a recommendation on a mechanical keyboard, I’d say https://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-Mechanical-Feedback-Keyboard-MK-BL15/dp/B00Z8E58MI?th=1 would be just as good a choice for tactile non clicky. If you want specifically a full size with RGB then your pick is decent, but if you’re going to spend $100 on a keyboard, I’d recommend going all the way and getting something with nicer keycaps at the very least. Again, personal preference.

edit: if you have specific questions or are looking for specific features, I’m happy to help with finding something. Just reply or dm me.

Since you probably want to have something that feels rather similar there is the Nixeus Moda with Kailh Browns and the Qisan Magicforce with Gateron Browns for acceptable prices on Amazon.

Gaterons are less scratchy than both Cherry and Kailh switches, so I’d suggest those. You can also get the Magicforce with basically any switch you want. So, for example, if you want to try linears you could get Gateron Reds.
