But seriously, Dan John’s ‘Never Let Go’ is an excellent treatise on weight training and overall life outlook.

Ideas:
- A cloth yoga mat, I love my cotton yoga mat
- A small, starter dumbbell set
- A good book about fitness. I like this one by Dan John.
- A fitness sandbag
- Since he’s into push-ups, maybe parallettes.

Never Let Go: A Philosophy of Lifting, Living and Learning by Dan John
Ironmind: Stronger Minds, Stronger Bodies by Randall J. Strossen
Strong Enough? Thoughts from Thirty Years of Barbell Training by Mark Rippetoe
To me, those are mandatory.
I also read a bunch of Pavel Tsatsouline’s book. Good but not great (Enter the kettlebell, Power to the people, Naked warrior)
