I adorethis one from amazon. Its easily the best one I have ever bought. Ive had it for 2 yrs now and its still in great shape. The elastic is just now starting to stretch out so I’ll probably get a new one sometime in the near future.

Your post will probably be deleted cuz rules.

But if you’re looking for a real deal, blackout sleep mask, look no further! Best one I’ve ever purchased and I’ve worn a lot of masks over the last 10 years.

Not a troll. Just trying to spread the good word.

I’m not sure if these would work for you, but having tried weighted sleep pillows (felt great but fell off during the night), normal sleep masks (didn’t like how they squashed my eyes), I settled on the MZOO eye masks. The strap is adjustable to you can make them tighter as the elastic wears out over time, they’re constructed of a very commutable memory foam, and they have pretty deep pockets over your eyes so it doesn’t matter if your eyes are open or shut, they still block out the light. I also wear them at night if it’s at all breezy in our bedroom so I don’t get dry eye. Highly recommended. https://www.amazon.com/Contoured-Sleeping-Blindfold-Concave-Meditation/dp/B07KC5DWCC

Are you me?? I feel like I could have written this exact same thing. I’ve been trying to use ear plug but they make my ears irritated and itchy. I have a decent sleep mask ( MZOO Sleep Eye Mask https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KC5DWCC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share ) but doesn’t help with the noise part.

Why use a mirror at all? There’s nothing inherently magical about it.

Perhaps getting a blind fold that has depth to it so that you can have your eyes open while seeing nothing but black.

You can get these from Amazon.

I just bought a 20 lb. weighted blanket from LLBean. It came on Thursday but I haven’t tried it yet. I am going to do so tonight. I find the heavy, leaded apron they put on you at the dentist very soothing and comforting, so I think I’d be a good candidate for a weighted blanket. (Many people on the autism spectrum like deep pressure, and I believe I am on the spectrum.) I also have been browsing for eye masks on Amazon. Many report they don’t like having their eyelashes squished, etc… I think I will try this one, which has a lot of good reviews, and it has these contoured eye cups that won’t have the mask right up against your entire eye. https://www.amazon.com/Contoured-Sleeping-Blindfold-Concave-Meditation/dp/B07KC5DWCC/ref=pd\_lpo\_3?pd\_rd\_i=B07KC5DWCC&psc=1

Invest in a decent eye mask. I own this one and it’s pretty comfortable and cheap. Use it every night

I’m not the person you asked, but I got this one for Christmas and LOVE IT. I can open my eyes and not have my lashes touch the mask, which would irritate the fuck out of me.

Overstimulation can be really painful when someone has headaches after a concussion. He might already get helpful items from the team doctors, but a pair of earplugs and nice light-blocking eye mask would be a thoughtful gift. There are eye masks that give space for your eyeballs. I use these

I’ll add another common complaint is that eye masks often don’t block all the light around the nasal bridge. The mask provided in the link does not have a cover on the nasal bridge, so a tiny bit of light still gets through. Its not enough to bother me but if you’re very sensitive to light then you might want one that covers the nasal bridge. My preference is not to have anything covering my nose, it makes the mask too warm.

this is my favorite:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KC5DWCC

it doesn’t touch the eyes, and the band can be adjusted tight enough so it doesn’t fall off.

but it’s a personal choice, so you have to try many different kinds to find the best one for you

You’re welcome! I have had sleep problems my whole life and the combo of those 3 has been the most helpful thing. Along with sleep hygeine stuff like no screens 30+ min before bed, consistent routine, some kind of meditation if you have problems with running thoughts.

And a good sleep mask! Linking my favorite.

First, find yourself a Safe Parking location and get in there if you can.

For Los Angeles: https://www.safeparkingla.org/

Long Beach’s pilot Safe Parking program starts in September.

If you’re not in a Safe Parking location, you’ll want to block out your windows at night. Whether or not you’re in a Safe Parking location, you also might want to get a good sleep mask and some earplugs.

If you’re in neighborhoods, vary your parking spot as much as you can (choose different streets or different neighborhoods for the night if possible), and be a good neighbor — no noise, no trash, no sitting in your vehicle with the music on even if the windows are up, no pacing up and down in front of houses talking on your phone at night, no peeing on trees or pooping in bushes, no sneaking up to houses to turn on their hose to get water, no chain-smoking outside someone’s home, no drugs. All these things make it more likely that someone will ask the cops to ask you to move on.

A YMCA membership for showering and a bathroom is a great idea, especially if you need to get out of the heat and just sit somewhere air conditioned and read or charge your electronics. Some have wifi and TVs too. However, joining something like 24-hour Fitness means you have 24/7 access to showers and restrooms, although they might be less chill about people hanging out charging your electronics or reading or something.

Eggshell foam is going to get unbearably hot to sleep on and isn’t going to provide you much support — you’re going to be aching in the morning after a night or two. If you have any spare cash, you can get an okay mattress at IKEA for $60.

Public libraries are also good for getting into air conditioning and charging your devices, plus you get to read whatever you want and stuff.

This is the mask I picked up, btw:

If you sleep during the day due to working 3rd shift, I might also recommend blackout curtains in combination with a sleep mask – especially if the sun is hitting your window directly.

Finally, taking 5 mg of melatonin when going to bed has helped me tons.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S38C5WW

If this doesn’t do the trick you could also try ear plugs to block out any daytime noises.

A year ago when I started , this was the first mask I purchased, Mask 1. Since then the mask has been kinda falling apart and the space for eyes have never been wide or deep enough. Has become terribly uncomfortable during treatments . Yesterday I just got this Manta Mask Mask 2. Just from trying the Manta for sleeping for one night ( Ive never been able to wear one to sleep, but this one lasted) it seems like a world of difference , not only comfort but complete darkness. Its expensive , but seems like it will be worth it.

I don’t even do in office treatments and my psych’s office is the coziest I’ve ever been in. You can just tell he wants people to feel at ease in there. It’s a real bummer that your doc isn’t willing to hear patient feedback to make the experience better.

Since your options are limited, I suggest creating your own temporary environment. Folding camp chairs can be super comfortable if you spend a little bit of money. Here’s a rocking chair. Also get a 3-d eye mask. Bring your own music with you and suddenly you’re transported to somewhere nice and cozy while in your sterile room.

Better get yourself a good sleep mask, light exposure while sleeping is linked to greater rates of cancer, increased chance of developing Alzheimers, etc.

My submissive loves her blindfold. She’s very much driven by touching sensation and removing her vision heightens the experience of her skin. We searched for awhile to find a blindfold that could stand up to our rigorous play, provided total blackout coverage, and was comfortable at the same time.

This is the one we use:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KC5DWCC

At some point I may try a full BDSM hood but she also wants hairpulling so the blindfold could be our ideal solution.

I’d recommend these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KC5DWCC/

They don’t put any pressure on your corneas, instead all pressure stays on the bone line around your eyes.

Ah we are quite similar then.

I lay in bed, under a weighted blanket. I use some pillows to prop my head up and get comfy. The weighted blanket is nice because it holds my body still and I’ve found that the less you move, the more dissociated you feel. Sometimes, I try to pretend that I am paralyzed and can’t move (which is what would happen if you took the amount used for anaesthesia).

I use an MZOO Eye Mask which work very well and doesn’t put pressure on the eyes. However, my room is absolutely dark as well, so the mask isn’t entirely necessary.

I also use an essential oils diffuser to relax me. Eucalyptus, bergamot, and grapefruit are my favorites.

I listen to techno music sets on Soundcloud by djs that I like, which is nice because the tracks are really long and last for the duration of my journey. I use noise canceling headphones, so with the eye mask and the weighted blanket, I really feel like I’m in my little cocoon.

At the end of my journey, usually around 60 minutes, I really take my time getting up. I just lay there and experience the peace that I feel.

I also like to end with a little stretching. Stretching feels incredible on ketamine.

For the rest of the night, I will avoid my phone/computer, and try to engage in self-care: drink tea, play with my cats, listen to more music, maybe do something creative.

Funny you should ask. Like other commenters I recently purchased a sleep mask to block out morning sunlight. For that purpose it has changed my life – no more waking up at sunrise. But it is well suited for bedroom play as well. It is super comfy, not bulky, has pads around the eyes so no pressure on the eyes, blocks all light, and stays in place.
