I currently own this espresso machine. I know it’s not the best, but it’s what I have.

It comes with a pressurized portafilter. I would like to get a standard portafilter for it, but I don’t know if that even exists for this machine, or if they’re cross compatible or all a standard size for every machine. I don’t have money to upgrade the actual machine, but if I can spend like $10-30 to make this machine a bit better, then I can deal with that for a while.

best bet is either frenchpress or Aeropress or moka pot that will keep you under 50$ and makes great coffee..

or take my advice and upgrade to espresso machine, killer espresso gagdet in your budget be

ROK Presso for $150 from amazon, makes expensive espresso machine like shots but its all manual and you will need a decent grinder than your krups.. but you can add water in espresso for americano or milk for lattes etc..

if your into more automatic, and want to settle for non expresso machines than

if your thinking of auto espresso machine than in your budget

  • its delonghi ec155 for $100, makes great coffee for the price of the machine..

anything better for espresso in your budget be used espresso machines which u have to find yourself..

  • or if you can spend 300$ than gaggia classic espresso machine is the way to go..

i think i have covered it all, reply if you have any questions.. and upvote if you like my reply 🙂

Thanks for the info! I’m actually looking to sell an espresso machine. It’s actually really good (and expensive lol) but I bought it for my mum’s birthday and she ended up not wanting to drink espresso. It’s this one, let me know if you’re interested.

I’m not saying that is or isn’t wrong, just that not everyone feels that way and giving a gift that increases the cost of their morning coffee since it is easier for you doesn’t make the most sense.

Also, in terms of cost and ease of use – a semi-automatic for under $200 like this one from Mr Coffee seems to be the sweep spot for me. I have to load the milk and espresso, but it does everything else.

Yeah I was looking into some machines but I didn’t really know any quality ones. One of them was like a keurig machine but the thought of having to buy the little capsules was a turn off. Another one I saw had a milk frother but I’m pretty sure you guys could recommend a better one, I’ll link it down below.

Also, in terms of the grinder, are beans ever sold already ground? Because I’ve never really seen people with a grinder usually they just have a coffee machine. Mind you, nobody i’ve seen is as into coffee as the hobbyists here.

There was one on amazon I was going* to get for my dad but I’m a broke ass mother fucker. So I got him a lesser one. So you put milk in this cup, you put grounds in the grounder, and what it does is it gives you a couple settings to use. It automatically frothes the milk and does whatever to the coffee and makes the drink you wanted by combining the milk and coffee to make espressos, lattes, and cappas.

Video of people using it

Amazon for 199.99 USD

Then take the other 100 and give it to me so I can get one too lol jk

Video hit home as I love espresso at home. Mr Coffee Barista works great

The dreaded ‘foot drop’ always gets me. One reason I love walking with my Golden Retriever is if I fall “I’m not some drunk guy” but more of person “who fell, with that pretty Golden Retriever

On Movie Theaters — thankfully we have iPIC. Big recliner seats, two seats together with a center console. Best part is back row, full reclined and my tremors don’t disturb anyone else. Yes,I’ve had people ask “can you sit still?” during quiet movies, so best to go to IPIC for those unless an action thriller with lots of action!

OP I’m a fellow coffee enthusiast.

Here’s my kit, I’d consider getting it as a gift. The coffee is completely superior to anything you can buy in a store, and this plus a few 16oz thermoses could keep your dad stocked all day.

This is pretty user friendly… I’ll be graduating to a nicer version soon, but after ~ a year this thing is still going strong. I know it’s a lot, but you might consider this as an awesome fathers day gift… it cut down my cost per cup of coffee to $0.13 so there’s that…

Morning! I woke up with an interest in finally playing around with espresso ratios, as I am big noob and have been happily following my machines guidelines. What I learned today is confusing.

Following the general CafeBarista machine directions/guidelines:
– My regular double shot of espress yields 74g of liquid coffee and using their guidelines for portafilter filling only uses 12g of coffee. That gets me a ratio of 16%!?
– Having run the machine without the portafilter (but carefully measuring the water)
— Single shot: 51g water
— Double shot: 94g water

So barring a huge noob error, do I need to significantly increase the amount of coffee used to get a "normal" extraction ratio?

To try to adjust, I just pulled a single (machine setting) shot with the doubleshot portafilter, to get a 14g/29g= 48% extraction! The difference is very noticeable, and I am flying right now as I type.

Very curious if my machines settings are way off by default, and what your suggestions would be!

Wow guys, this is amazing. My mom’s birthday is also coming up in about a week, and I am also looking for an espresso machine. However, my budget is a lot smaller – $200-300 tops. Any suggestions? Should I just get the top-rated product on Amazon?

My mom doesn’t really drink espresso but she’ll love it. She’s currently drinking instant coffee daily, so I think espresso machine would be a big improvement.

EDIT: didn’t hear from anyone so I ended up ordering Mr. Coffee BVMC-ECMP1000. Seems like a good fit.
