I bought a Mr. Coffee just a few weeks ago. It works nicely, but makes just enough for 2 mugs of coffee at most. You can make just one mug’s-worth if you want too by putting in half the water. It’s perfect for me as a single guy, but you might want to get a larger one for your family if you will be serving coffee to more people. This coffee maker also has a timer, so you can prep your coffee and fill the water on Friday night and set it to brew at 8 AM or something.

Whatever you do, make sure you get the right sized filters. You can get either pre-ground coffee or beans and a grinder to grind it fresh. Pre-ground is easier, beans is fresher but more time. My coffeemaker takes 4-cup filters.

He’s drinking Lavvaza/Community/Folgers out of a Black and Decker he brought at a garage sale. He puts so much cream in it i don’t know if he can even taste the coffee. He seems to like going to McDonalds alot for his senior coffee. McDonalds is pretty good coffee to be fair. I was just thinking of getting something like https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Coffee-JWX3-Programmable-Coffeemaker/dp/B002Z1Z79G/ref=sr_1_12?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1496156389&sr=1-12&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A6787408011%7C6787409011%2Cp_36%… and https://www.amazon.com/McDonalds-McCafe-Premium-Ground-Breakfast/dp/B00R3D0UH0/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1496156899&sr=8-1&keywords=mcdonalds+coffee+ground the one you linked looks nice but, he’s had big coffee makers before and they end up in storage because of how much space they take up on the counter top
