I’m going to be honest for me, it has left me in a wheelchair in addition to heart issues. But I don’t know what it’s like for you.
I recommend good supportive pillows, like a full body one.
I use something like this .
Be careful how you move them, also maybe have someone else clip toenails as that seems to be an issue for me..I’ll lift up my leg to get them and POP and pain.

this is a full body pillow, I was wondering if anyone ever used this (or something similar) to help w/ surgery? I never sleep on my stomach so I’m looking at alternatives. Or do you guys think just stacking regular old fashioned pillows work just as well? B/c I have like 7 of those…

Trying out a u-shaped body pillow (otherwise known as a pregnancy pillow) was a game changer for me as a side-sleeper. The Moonlight Slumber brand is the one I use, but there’s a million different types to choose from.
It basically supports you from every angle, and you’re just wrapped up in fluffy comfort. As a side sleeper it’s ideal because the shape allows it to support both my neck, my head, and my face; I typically wrap one arm underneath the pillow by my head, and wrap my legs around the rest, and it is SO COMFORTABLE.
The biggest drawback is how bulky it is, so if you share the bed with anyone else that can be a problem. There’s different sizes and styles, such as L-shaped, C-shaped, or even a smaller boomerang shape. I haven’t tried any of those ones personally but just there’s lot of different options to choose from.
I know it can seem a little weird buying a pregnancy pillow but they are so legit I swear! I had never even heard of them until a friend of mine was pregnant and then I was like holy shit…why aren’t these commonplace.
