Hah, in my early days I too drew with a mouse. How broke is really broke? Because if you enjoy drawing digitally Monoprice makes a damn good graphics tablet starting around $40. I still use mine when I am not at home to use my cintiq.
If you are anything like I was when I started out, you’re already comfortable with actually drawing, and drawing digitally, then you don’t need to go nuts right off the bat with a wacom. You already have the brunt down with mouse work. A 40 dollar tablet wouldn’t change much but streamline your process.
