I think it can be a little hard to track down unfortunately 🙁 Mizon occasionally has issues with fulfilling the demand for certain products! It is on Amazon Prime though!! (not aff link jsyk, heh)

It is my understanding that your doctor is somewhat correct, although-we all have different things that work differently for our skin.

I HAVE an AHA and BHA but I have noticed (I have dry skin) that if I use my BHA more than once a week, my skin has a stripped feeling that my AHA does not produce. So I keep my BHA for oily times or again, for a weekly application.

The Mizon 8% peeling serum is fan-freakin-tastic if you have not tried it (link is to Amazon) and is a favorite over at /r/AsianBeauty. (you MAY be able to find it a bit cheaper but not by much, elsewhere)

Mizon AHA peeling serum. It’s a Korean brand available online. It has a light floral scent, pH of ~2-3, and has 8% AHA. Although it’s a little weaker than alpha hydrox aha, it is still effective and meets your criteria.

I’ve got a recommendation for AHA: Mizon 8% AHA serum. Using it currently, and have been enjoying it! https://www.amazon.com/MIZON-AHA-8-Peeling-Serum/dp/B00F35GT0W/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1487988187&sr=8-1&keywords=mizon+aha

I use a variety. The only way to find out what will work best with your skin, unfortunately, is to use educated guesses and then patch test and try products out. In the past, I have used Alpha Skin Care (not AB) 10% glycolic lotion, which is pretty strong, and their 14% glycolic serum, which is very strong and should not be used by someone new to AHAs.

I have also used MUAC’s mandelic 10% acid serum, which is significantly gentler and might be a good option. Although for serious skin resurfacing and dealing with clogs, I have had the best luck with glycolic acid. There are a number of 8% glycolic products that you might want to try out, but I have not used them personally: Paula’s Choice 8% AHA and Mizon’s 8% AHA Peeling Serum have both been well reviewed by many people in this sub. Be aware that you should start slow – once or twice a week – and see how your skin responds. You might need to up your hydration and occlusive steps to deal with the additional harsh acids on your skin. Finally, AHAs are very photosensitizing, so make sure you have a good sunscreen that you like before starting AHAs, as you will need to be diligent with the sunscreen, or risk serious sun damage!

Np! Just ask if you are wondering more. Wait 30min between cleansing and BHA, or use a toner to lower your pH. Thayer’s Witch Hazel or Cosrx BHA AHA toner are two good choices.

If you want to add AHA after the BHA then consider Cosrx AHA or Mizon AHA. They are two favs in the other subs.

Hey /u/azngirlLH! Oooh same, I’ve been laying off it for a while because I just don’t want it to end and have to look for another haha. I hope to see it on there soon along with the Starfish Cream.

Just saw the peeling serum a few days ago and now it’s sold out?! I know Amazon has around two left in stock and eBay still has quite a few left, just in case 🙂

Mizon AHA Peeling Serum $18.99 for 40ml on prime.

Much cheaper if you order from roseroseshop.com, free shipping BUT it will take awhile.

The problem with PC’s toner is that in order to do anything but moisturize AHA/BHA has to be at 8% or above, anything below will not exfoliate. And PC’s is only 2%, and it’s $9 for a 2 week supply, mizon is several months worth at 40mL.

Also come on down to /r/AsianBeauty you are welcome to ask questions, talk about your skin-type and problems, etc. We love helping D:
