It’s time to jump on the k-beauty train cause Korea knows best lol. 🚂🤌🏼 And I’m gonna recommend products that are all available on Amazon and under $20 (cause expensive/inaccessible skincare is overrated).

HOW TO REPAIR BROKEN SKIN BARRIER:

  1. GENTLE CLEANSER: Find a face cleanser that’s gentle but still cleans thoroughly. I recommend Kwailnara Mint Pore Cleansing Foam. Feels really clean and refreshing after use.

  2. TONER: Arguably the most important step, as it sets the base for moisture retention. I love PYUNKANG YUL Essence Toner](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZZK3YJY/). After cleansing, pour a quarter size amount on palm and use the other hand to apply it to face (gently tap it into skin with my 3 center fingers). 🔑: You don’t want to just rub it around on your face cause then it won’t absorb properly. You can apply more if needed, but this step is SUPER important to moisturize the skin from within and helps other products absorb more effectively. Once it’s fully absorbed, move to next step.

  3. SERUM: This will add another layer of moisture to your skin. The ingredients in COSRX Snail Mucin 96 Power Repairing Essence helps with repairing damaged skin. Tap this into your skin too, about 2-3 pumps.

  4. PANTHENOL MOISTURIZER: Look for products with panthenol to repair skin barrier (known for wound healing). It’s a humectant so it attracts moisture and retains water in the skin. I recommend something like COSRX B5 D-Panthenol Cream. 🔄: Depending on the humidity in Florida while you’re there (cause panthenol can be too heavy in hot climates), switch (or alternate) with IUNIK Centella Calming Gel Cream to sooth irritation from sun exposure.

  5. MIST: This step is my favorite cause it’s so easy and effective. Use a moisturizing mist to LOCK in all the moisture you’ve been building up (or else it evaporates!). I use BIO HEAL BOH Panthenol Cica Barrier Cream Mist, but it’s harder to get in the US, so I recommend COSRX Comfort Ceramide Cream Mist. I spray it after moisturizing, as well as throughout the day (over sunscreen/makeup) when my skin is feeling dry and I need a boost. 💤: I call it my “lazy holy grail” cause when I’m too lazy to do all the skincare steps or don’t want to bring everything on a trip, I just spray this and I’m done!

  6. SUNSCREEN: Depends if you care about a white cast or not, but if non-reactive for sensitive is top priority, try [Soonjung Mild Defence Sun Cream](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BDCYN4P/. There’s also MAKEPREM UV Defense Me Calming Sun Cream or Dr.G Green Mild Up Sun – but they’re both over $25. Don’t forget to reapply if you’re in the sun for an extended period of time.

You can use this routine in Florida too, just skip the serum step and do only one of the moisturizer/mist.

I have very sensitive skin and rosacea that reacts immediately to many products, including face oils/oil cleansers. I’ve tried all the products you mentioned above and the only thing that has worked for me is using micellar water to remove makeup and then cleanse with Kwailnara Mint Pore Cleansing Foam. Leaves my skin and pores super clean and soft without drying. It’s not fragrance free but I haven’t had any reaction to it like I normally do with other products.

I recently discovered Beyond Angel Aqua Moist Cream while I was in Korea and I’m obsessed. It’s a MUCH better dupe of Tatcha Water Cream that’s lighter in texture but WAYY more moisturizing somehow. It’s also hard to beat the value of a 1+1 deal for the price (apparently it’s always sold like that at OliveYoung!).

My ultimate holy grail is BIO HEAL BOH Panthenol Cica Barrier Cream Mist – to calm my skin, protect my skin barrier, and lock in all the moisture. If I were stranded on an island and could only pack ONE skincare product (besides sunscreen), this would be it. When I’m super tired and don’t feel like doing all my skincare steps, I just spritz this one and I’m DONE.

I’m also on my third bottle Isntree TW-Real Bifida Ampoule cause I reacted to other fermented products like SK-II PITERA and this is way cheaper – also available on YesStyle, Sokoglam, Stylevana, and sometimes Amazon

Also recommend Atomy Evening Care Peel Off Mask for soothing my skin as needed. It’s called evening care but I use it whenever I need a little extra care and want my skin to be smooth and soft (like before putting on makeup). I buy it directly from the brand cause I don’t trust the Amazon versions
